October at the Downstream Campground

This beautiful October day was such a completely wonderful and peaceful adventure for the four of us. Lillie was so happy she acted younger than she had in years. It just was the best of fall in North Dakota.

I hadn’t been to the downstream campground since I was very young - five years old. My family camped there one night in the summer just for fun. Here’s a photo of me on that evening. 

It was quite a bit chillier and later in the year upon my return, but so worth the trip. This post won’t have a lot of words, just photos, and a beautiful song linked at the bottom for you to enjoy. I hope the emotions come through the photos - because it was a gem of a day. Enjoy...

Honestly one of my favorite places to be in the fall in ND is by the river. It’s so beautiful. The giant cottonwoods are everywhere. The last leaves and grasses are rustling in the breeze. It’s just a beautiful time. The dogs had a blast - I haven’t seen Lillie so happy in ages!
