Richard’s family Knows about him though it’s not something they really talk about. After a couple years and a few remarks from his mother about how he seems to spend much more time up in York than he used to, he decides to hint that maybe there is someone. They take it pretty well and a few months after that he decides to try and introduce them to Thomas. Thomas is resistant at first (he doesn’t see how it can possibly go well but also desperately wants it to) but agrees eventually because (1/2)

I'm up for anything that concerns thomas barrow's happiness and the fact richard is so in love with him he rlly wants to introduce thomas to his family, despite how risky it could be, honestly melts my heart. and they thought of thomas by getting him a gift!!!! Thank you anon :). I've answered 14 in a different post already but I'll happily answer the other three.

1. Favourite Season

One and five. One because it established all the relationships between the characters and it felt like a wonderful, balanced ensemble piece.

Five because the relationship between Carson and Hughes blossomed in that one a lot. (But I also like series 3....)

2. Least favourite season

I don't really have a least favourite one. Only episodes I really dislike or storylines that were a completely wrong decision (everything past Anna and Bates's marriage for example).

ummm headcanon that richard LOVES thomas’ hair when it’s natural and has no pomade in it and it’s part of their nightly ritual that when thomas is getting washed up for bed he does everything but his hair and instead lets richard wash the pomade out because richard loves his hair so much 🥰🥰

Thomas has sleepy bitch disease and will take any chance to fall asleep on Richard. Richard is always delighted.

oh yes 100% that boy is ready for a nap at any given opportunity and the fact that he has the love of his life as a pillow is always a bonus

What is the first thing people notice about your personality? Is it an accurate portrayal of who you really are?

This kind of goes along with the Thomas answer in my previous ask but most people have told me I’m kind of frightening in my intensity when they initially meet me and then surprising when I come out of my shell and am suddenly less scary. This actually kind of is who I am. I’m not quick to let everyone in and around new people I am very much assessing the situation and figuring out how I may fit into the social dynamic at hand.  I certainly don’t intend to come off as unkind but I’m just not always quick to interact and then when I do choose to interact people find it very surprising so I suppose it must come off as a drastic switch. I’ve been categorized by Myers-Briggs as equal parts introvert and extrovert so I guess in a weird way it makes sense. 

Are you a good listener?

I believe I am, yes. I remember things in great detail and have proven to be pretty intuitive as well :)

What is something you strongly believe in? 

Much like Sybil I am a huge supporter of gender equality/feminism on a global scale. Broad I know, but yes. (I was so happy to answer this because Sybil is my fave Downton character, no surprise I’m sure)

Does the way you’ve been treated affect how you treat others?

Yes. 1000%. I’m generally a quiet, guarded but kind empath with new people and try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt despite my quiet (and I’m told unreadable) exterior. To be honest, high school was no particularly kind to me, especially towards the end. I know what it’s like to feel super alone and be totally snubbed by people you thought were your friends and since then I’ve become much more guarded despite my empathic nature and admittedly it takes time for me to fully let people in. That being said, I’ve also become a much stronger person, the kind of strong person who will metaphorically tear down anything or anyone that threatens the happiness of myself or anyone I care about. If I am crossed, I am a nightmare dressed like a daydream. So in summary yes. Being treated like I was nothing made me generally kind, despite having an emotional wall and more of a secret ninja jungle cat ready to strike always if need be (but only to those who bring it out of me). My experiences have given me a balance of hard and soft emotions.
