Featured in a February 22, 2013 article for the New York Times about hostels is Downtownbeds as pictured above.  The hostel is located in Mexico City, Mexico and is operated by Grupo Habita which is the same company which manages Hotel Americano in NYC and various other lifestyle hotels around the U.S. and Latin America. Mexico City is a huge city actually like 4 times the size of NYC. I actually had the opportunity to live in Mexico City for 3 months a few years back working for the largest hotel company in Latin Amercia. Downtownbeds is located in the historic district of town which is a great spot to stay while visiting the city.
