It's such a different dynamic from DP though, you know? Danny can put on a human face and still go to school, eat food, etc. Barb's a doctor (ie, primed to be helpful and nurturing) and not someone dedicated to hunting his species down and destroying/experimenting on them, Jim and Claire never had that whole romance-denial thing Sam and Danny had going on, and I'm pretty sure there's no ghost Danny would want calling him son. XD 

It's also interesting that despite the father/son vibes in earlier seasons, Strickler takes a major backseat in this scene. That would soo not happen with Vlad if he was anywhere close, ahaha.

If Danny ever went full-on can't-go-back ghost (I guess an equivalent would be taking on a TUE-ish ghost form in a similar self-sacrificial move) the fallout would have to be a heckuva lot messier, don't you think?

Ngl I kinda think pot/soad is what Danny Phantom would have been like if it wasn't a kids show

(heck I’m flattered thank you) Though PoT/SoaD is definitely a lot more dramatic and slow-paced. I’d picture an “adult” version of DP to still be action-oriented and even slapsticky. Ghostbusters rather than The Sixth Sense, yanno?

What do you think about this headcanon of mine: When Danny first transformed back into his human form he was naked 'cause his human form always wears whatever he was wearing last except his jumpsuit 'cause that's what he half died in. (This is not for anything sexual or fan service purposes. Just thought it made the most sense for his first transformation after the accident.)

Eh, I’m not really feeling it. Considering Danny himself wasn’t entirely incinerated in the blast, I feel like the suit, which was designed specifically to withstand ecto-energy, would have survived. Scorched and tattered, sure, but totally gone? Nah. Though I bet after he (almost) died in it, none of the Fentons ever wanted to see him wear it again.

hey umm.... weird question but recently this danny phantom joke has resurfaced and i just don't get it but i don't know who else to ask so would you mind explaining it? so danny says something offensive to jazz, to which she responds ''you're toast!'', and danny says ''oh yeah? you and what toaster?''.... i don't get the joke and it's driving me nuts haha.... can you explain it? thanks a lot i feel like a dumbass lmao

Oh, sure! At least, if you’re referring to the meaning behind the actual words? Why it’s a recurring joke in the phandom, I have no idea, besides the fact that it’s a funny line and worth repeating.

So, for context, the joke in question is from Bitter Enemies, where Jazz pretends to work with Vlad to capture/defeat Danny. Danny’s in a cage, and Vlad has just suggested the siblings fighting it out gladiator-style in his football stadium. Danny kind of laughs off the idea of Jazz beating him (iirc), to which she responds with the threat. 

This is where we get our delicious little wordplay which mixes two idioms beautifully:

“You’re toast!” means you’re doomed, defeated, in serious trouble. Popularized by its use in Ghostbusters, interestingly enough. 

“You and what army?” is a comeback idiom that means basically ‘your threat is meaningless,’ ie, unless you have an army hidden somewhere you don’t scare me. Danny just adapts it to the situation, using a toaster in place of army. 

You can’t make toast without a toaster, sis. Duh. :P

It’s a silly wordplay mashup that perfectly suits both Danny and the show and is just the right amount of petty between siblings and I love it.

I like the version of Vlad in the very center, and tbh I can’t help but wonder why Vlad’s actually purposfully dressing up like a vampire.

As I recall, Vlad was an actual canonical vampire in early iterations of the show - and while he was changed to a ghost later, the stylistic choices lingered.

If you want my fan theory, a halfa’s appearance is determined by his self-perception. Vlad became a halfa by “dying’ slowly and painfully via ecto-acne. He sees his ghost half as this leeching evil - thus the vampire aesthetic and blue/dead skin. He also sees his ghost side as stronger, which is why he gets like 40% more buff as a ghost.

What happens to Danny's wallet when he Goes Ghost? Is it, like, integrated into his ectoplasmic self, or is it taken Somewhere Else? Is there a pocket dimension in the Ghost Zone with all of his stuff?

I tend to lean toward the pocket dimension theory. I headcanon that Danny’s ghost form is transdimensional, ie he literally pulls his ectoplasmic form out of the ghost zone each time he transforms. His clothes/organs/everything that doesn’t show up in his ghost form have to go somewhere, right? Pocket dimension (perhaps behind a closed door?) seems just about right. 

I wonder if he can reach into it kind of like hammerspace? Do you think that’s where he keeps the thermos half the time?

Is there a reason no one talks about how the trio (dp) all knew each other in second grade? (from the poindexter episode, danny recounts a story of how tucker threw up in sam's lunchbox to prove he's danny not poindexter) has the phandom just collectively forgotten, or are we completely denying canon fact for our own hc's because we like them better? what happened there?

Hmm, I dunno. 

Even though it’s canon, it doesn’t line up with a lot of stuff in the show. Like how Sam managed to keep her parents’ wealth a secret for years without either of the boys picking up on it? Not to mention little odds and ends where the show used exposition to talk about something in recent history (glaring one: Sam’s ultra-recyclo-vegetarianism, which Tucker acted like he’d never heard of). Which is a common storytelling device, it just seems to imply that they don’t know everything about each other, which is a bit odd for childhood friends. 

The best fan interpretation that I’ve heard is that Tucker and Danny were friends since way back, they shared a class with Sam (but not as friends), and then the trio friendship formed shortly before the accident.

The topic’s also just not in vogue right now. 

I’ve seen a lot of future fics and AUs lately, but very little in the way of kid!trio.

Personally I figure Danny's powers are at least like 60% psychosomatic, and they work the way they do because that's how it makes sense to him at that point in time. His telekinesis stopped working because he forgot he did it.

Okay, I’m kind of onboard with the psychosomatic thing to an extent, but dude - who forgets being able to pick up something across the room? Especially a lazy teenager?? Do you have any idea how many trips to the fridge you could save?!
