The Duracell DPP 600 powerpack comes with several handy accessories. It comes with jumper cables so you can jump start your vehicle without having to connect to a separate car battery. The AC adapter allows you to recharge the unit from a wall power outlet and stores inside the unit when not being used. The DC charging cable can be plugged into any cigarette lighter in any automobile, boat or RV. The unit comes with a handy storage bag and an owner’s manual. A 1 year limited warranty is provided by the manufacturer.
This powerpack has a 28 amp battery which will jump start the majority of 8 cylinder engines. There is a built in reverse polarity detector which will stop power being transferred if you happen to connect the unit to the incorrect battery terminals, a nice safety feature.
The built in radio is handy to have especially in an emergency situation. The radio gives you access to local news and to emergency broadcasts. The built in light will be helpful during the evening hours.
Customer Feedback
The majority of customers have been happy with their purchase of this unit. One person took it on a camping trip where it was extremely useful. Another person became stuck with his car and was glad to have the unit handy.
The Duracell DPP Powerpack lasts for about 5 days before needing to be recharged. One customer stated that the power meter is not super accurate and it runs out of power before the meter indicated the level was this low. Plus there is a clock on the unit which cannot be turned off. This is not a big deal and could be quite useful to have. One or two customers thought that by allowing this to be turned off you could extend the life of the unit a little longer.
Duracell could improve on this product by using a Lithium battery and this is something that a few customers have suggested to the company. Of course this would increase the price while at the same time increasing the life of the battery before it sounds the low battery alarm.
