Dr. Maggie Osa
(my greatest dream come true)
trust me, i’m a doctor
Did you have any luck on your job search a while back?
yes i am now a postdoc and professional researcher assistant in a queer eating disorder lab and am v happy about it :) ty for asking!!
thinking about my mom & her mom & her mom, coming from nothing, hiding and erasing who they are and silencing their voices, trapped in so many ways, desperate to be free. and then i'm here, from a first generation college student to a phd. these women sacrificed everything, they carried me through, they gave me the strength to refuse to be silent, to speak from the heart and be proud of who we are. they carried me. and i will carry them.
submitted my dissertation to my committee and then it was like i need to tell my mom!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then cried for several hours so hooray
she is the one thing that never fails to make me smile rn
How’s ED recovery and/or research life treating you? (No pressure to answer!!!)
recovery is fine with the exception of navigating a lot of restrictions due to two health conditions i was diagnosed with in the last year
research life is also fine! struggling with recruitment for one of my studies, if people have access to a large following and are willing to spread information let me know lol
update for anyone keeping track (aka nobody): i have written a lengthy statistical and ethical rationale and now bmi will not be included 🤟🏽
