about my "monstrous form" (in quotes bc idk what else to call it) >>>
ig in a way, you could call it my true form? my human form doesn't take effort to maintain, per se, but it's kind of uncomfortable cramming like. 4.5 meters of mass into a 1m body. projected growth is -> 12m into 2m which is actually worse.
anyway, this is the reason i'm hungry all the time. pros: i can eat as much as i want w/o getting full. cons: i can eat as much as i want w/o getting full. i actually don't need that much more food than the avg human to survive, but that's still like,, 1.5-2 times as much caloric intake? budgeting's gonna be hell later on
i can't speak while transformed, but i can communicate in growls, chirps, n clicks. not hisses tho, ironically enough. i like sunbathing
inside of mouth/throat is kind of like a lamprey's in that it has many, many rows of teeth. the outside is just a standard hinge-jaw mechanism tho. the teeth carry over to my human form, which is kind of weird bc out of all the things?? you can give me eyes but not a normal human mouth??
speaking of which: no eyes in this form means i rely on scent-taste, vibrations (incl. hearing), and heat to sense things. probably the weirdest (but also coolest ??) part of this form. second-coolest part is being able to go REALLY fuckin fast + also climb most surfaces
(points are taken off for having to undergo magical creature puberty. i swear i've fallen down more meters than i've actually walked.)
in this form, cuddle piles are heavenly. like. this is how i imagine dogs felt when they were first domesticated. we (my friends and i) don't do this often bc i'm Literally a Giant Creature and cannot be seen in civilization but yknow. you win some you lose some????
(speaking of my friends: i didn't intend to tell them abt my monstrous form until after high school, but ig they saw me partially transform/exhibit one too many non-human behaviors and got sus. so now i have 3 (hopefully potentially 4 now??) ride-or-dies.)
my guardians also know ('twas part of the terms for fostering me) but otherwise it's not supposed to be common knowledge. not bc it's a state secret or anyth, it's just too much trouble
((this sounds more and more like a YA novel plot as i speak but you know. what happens happens))
anyway, i find it rlly funny that all the depictions of the bandersnatch here (at least from what i've seen) are somewhat mammal-like. i'm more like... an evil and fucked-up cross between a snake, bird, and centipede.
