Time and time again, people have tried to discredit Alphys' work in the Determination Experiments by crediting at least some of the True Lab entries to Gaster. A recent theory making the rounds has once again misled people into taking this as fact, and in this video, I take a critical look at the entries to prove that Alphys wrote all of them as well as debunking several of the arguments used to claim that Gaster was involved. Sources include both Undertale and Deltarune, the Undertale Gaster twitter takeovers, the Legends of Localization book, and the recent Valentines newsletter. My goal in this video is to put this argument to rest, as it relies on many cherrypicked pieces of information that really don't hold up under scrutiny and are a disservice to Alphys and Gaster both.

Wh-what?!

Making Alphys Undertale a transgender woman would open the door for so many facets of her character. Yes this is my genuine character analysis of Dr. Alphys, Royal Scientist from 2015 hit game Undertale by Toby Fox.
1. Both Mew Mew, the protagonist of her favorite show, and Mettaton, her greatest "creation," are transgender. Yes technically Mad Mew Mew, who is trans, is a different character, but I think it would be a fair analysis of Mew Mew as a character to interpret her as a trans woman, especially if she draws inspiration from Sailor Moon, a show that helped normalize female queerness for a lot of girls.
2. We already knows Alphys hides a lot of herself and finds herself shameful. Give her gender dysphoria I dare you.
3. I think it's funny if we headcanon the small shy fem as trans and the tall, loud, and muscular butch as cis
Since I drew the supporting cast of UNDERTALE in some form or another, I figured I use their art assets and re-purpose them as a reference sheet. Plus, I have an excuse to nail down some Dark World designs for this AU!
Dark World Notes: -Toriel and Undyne's Dark World designs are based off their Chapter 3 appearances in Deltarune.
-I imagined Papyrus's Dark World form as if he were to join the Royal Guard in Undertale. Also, I love Inverted Fate's Papyrus having goggles so I ended up doing the same here.
-As of this writing, Ch 4 of Deltarune is hinting at Asgore's possible appearance in the Dark World? Maybe? Either way I do expect this Dark World design for him to age poorly here, lol.
-Alphys was a tough one to come up with. Originally I was gonna have her dress up as one of those anime magical girls but couldn't get a design to look right, so I went with making her a sci-fi scientist instead.
