Seriously though, how is it that dreary characters like Sky Man and The Face return, while no one has felt the need to put Doctor Hormone and Jane though some weird and/or edgy Post Modern adventures?

From the adventures of Dr. Hormone and his plucky granddaughter Jane in Popular Comics by Robert Bugg (no, that was his name really, really, I looked it up), finding he has to deal with a conspiracy of Nazis and Klansmen to loot Fort Knox, to stop this the doc uses his skills to create the Fleamen, Zinovieff is their leader.

Yes, Dell comics, Popular Comics to be exact, use to have a character called Dr. Hormone. He and his granddaughter sidekick Jane fought weirdos in the 40's. The series ended in mid story arch with them seemingly about to meet and greet God.

Despite all the public domain characters being brought back, no one has ever felt to need to bring these two back, and you could get away with the doctor getting far more weird these days.
