I thought of a Dr. Jester mascot costume. The design is based on the Joypolis Sonic mascot costume. I used pastel colors because Day 15 of the Martch art challenge was pastels. The left sketch had better proportions than the one on the right but it's still very cute and fat.
Dr. Jester would approve of the costume.
Commission for @salami-dono!
Happy birthday!!
Sonic cute emoji-style Dr. Jester for @salami-dono's birthday today.
This guy thinks he's Sonic the Hedgehog.
Chaos' face paint was used as the base for Dr. Jester. Controller only—no stylus was used. This is the ultimate power.
You know, I realized that if Uncle Chuck is the same height as Sonic, then Dr. Jester is one head taller than both of them.
I've been very busy but it was nice to ink something again. I hope to draw these two characters from a different angle someday! The lines are super crisp in the first image. I'd appreciate it if you took a closer look at it.
I can't escape Archie or SATAM...
In my heart, Dr. Jester is like Mr. Silver. Well, Kandy wouldn't be his Morph. Kandy isn't a pet, and Dr. Jester isn't very fond of him. No, it'd be Chicky more likely. Hmm, does Dr. Jester have a soft spot?
He'll never be that awesome of a character. That's too bad. I had something else to say but I will move it to a new post.
From my fic, Dr. Jester's comments on Surge & Kit's cybernetic enhancements:
• "Cybernetics interwoven in the soft tissue... Why? Why go to such lengths for these two? It would've been so much simpler to build androids. Implanting such devices had to have been absurdly complicated, but credit where it's due."
"He had a theory that the impracticality of the design was intended, possibly as a tactic to create dependency in the two subjects. It was another way to control them, as [Dr. Starline] alone had the knowledge to maintain their inferior cybernetic enhancements. Truly diabolical, he thought. Once again, he had to praise that platypus."
• "'It baffles me how your tiny bodies accepted those cybernetics in the first place,' he said, kneeling by Kit. 'Unfortunately, there is a problem: your bodies will grow, the implants will not. That discomfort you've been feeling, Kitsunami? Let's call it 'growing pains.'"
• "'Every single piece of these implants will have to be replaced eventually, perhaps sooner for the little one. They were not designed to accommodate growth and are showing signs of wear. You two will have to endure multiple surgeries until adulthood. If you manage to survive that long, there's still a chance the cybernetics could fail. With each surgical intervention, the risk of complications increases...'
His nonchalant tone did not match his worrying statements.
'Well, you're smart, aren't you?' [Surge] retorted. 'Can't you design new ones? Ones that won't need replacing?'
'Growth-accommodating cybernetic implants do not rule out the need for surgeries; they only lessen them. Alternatively, we could try a single operation. I could extract the cybernetics entirely and—'
'But, then we'd lose all of our abilities,' Kit voiced his concerns. 'What if we don't survive?'
'Yeah,' Surge's brows furrowed, 'we're not doing that.'
'Ha! If you’re concerned about survival, then roboticization is the best, long-term solution. Believe me, it will save you from all that pain. Dr. Starline may have known how to maintain your enhancements and keep you alive, but, hm... He's gone, isn't he?'"
⁂ [The End]
I like that his options were (1) I kill you, (2) I kill you (Accidental death/intraoperative or perioperative death), or (3) I kill you (Roboticized). Dr. Jester isn't afraid to cut someone open and look inside. He's eager, isn't he? Actually, I'd like to see an alternative route where he does help them with their cybernetics, and preserve their abilities, if they so wish.
I forgot that I made the Eggman ambush "canon" in this fic. He was displeased when Dr. Jester went for a chaotic power grab and so he destroyed him. Well, he got better. At the beginning, Dr. Jester arrived on Earth damaged. Eggman retrieved him and fixed him up but he also equipped him with a little Egg Bomb, just in case he stepped too far out of line. Like a starline...? Dr. Jester never knew! It's so Archie.
I wonder how Surge & Kit are doing in the comics. I haven't read the Extreme Gear story yet.
