The incredibly talented and funny Rachael Harris. Chalk pastels on pastelmat. 9" x 11".
Underrated Maze & Linda moment (made iconic by the fact that Maze is STILL HOLDING HER KNIVES)
Lucifer | Final Season Trailer | Netflix| MOVIE SHORT
Am I the only one who thinks it unfair that Loki is in the TVA prison and he will probably have to work with them to regain freedom, and that Bucky and Sam are in therapy? Loki needs therapy too. If Marvel hadn't killed the original Loki in IW, he might have been in therapy in this trailer and helping Bucky and Sam.
Honestly when life’s been fair to Loki? He was alone dealing with his identity issues and internalized racism, then he committed suicide, then he was tortured and brainwashed by Thanos, sentenced to solitary confinement for life by his father, lost his mother, was mortally wounded, lost his father, lost his home, went back to being in his brother’s shadow and was killed by his abuser and torturer. Yeah, he needed therapy from the very start of his story. And now this version of him is in another prison.
But to be fair, there’s definitely more going on for Sam and Bucky than therapy. And that was more of a staring contest than therapy imo :D and probably wasn’t therapy at all but a mission report meeting or sth.
If it were up to me, I would have sent all of these characters to therapy. I would have merged MCU with Earth-666 from DCEU(Lucifer tv show) just to send all of them to Dr. Linda. She is great! But I don’t think she would appreciate dealing with all of these super powered people and their issues. She has her hands full with another dysfunctional celestial family :D
I was watching episode 4x8 of Lucifer today and was struck by the conversation Dr. Linda and Eve had regarding him. Linda said Lucifer tends to project his issues onto external sources (understatement) when what he really needs to do is "face his issues head on."
And it made me realize just how indirect he really is:
He projects and tries to figure things out through other people/circumstances.
He gets people to confess their desires but can't force them to act on them (or even force them to confess guilt to a crime).
Even though he does some punishing of his own, a lot of punishment comes from the police or from the humans themselves (in Hell).
He waits for Chloe to choose him romantically after finding out she was a miracle.
He tries to get Eve to break up with him.
He sends his mother to another universe rather than follow through on sending her to heaven to fight with his father, thereby avoiding causing a confrontation.
The few times he ever directly faced an issue head on always turned out terribly for him. He killed Cain and Uriel which caused immense guilt and self-hatred. He pursued Chloe romantically (initially) only to find out it was all a potential manipulation by his father. Not to mention his first big direct action- rebelling against God- ended in failure and banishment.
Is it any wonder he avoids responsibility and direct decision making in most circumstances? He desperately wants control but believes he'll screw things up no matter what he does. So he tries to find ways to indirectly get what he wants/needs in order to avoid the self-loathing and fear that come with failure. And he spirals whenever the few things he can control, such as cutting off his wings, backfire.
He wants free will more than anything (it's what his power is all about - drawing out people's desires to help them become agents of their own will). Yet he struggles to accept his own free will and continues avoiding his problems while blaming everything on God.
