the castle creaks as it comes to a sudden halt, causing howl to stumble and fall onto his rear roughly, a few plates crashing to the ground. snapping his head to the side to look at the fire demon which powered the castle, he snarled out, "what is it, calcifer?" more than a little irritated, he pushes himself up to his feet and dusts his pants off.

"i can't go any farther, this area is protected by powerful magic!"

"and my own can't break through?"

"you could always try..."

with that statement, howl gives a heaving sigh. the heels of his leather shoes click against the floor and down the steps as he walks, and he opens the door to step outside onto soft grass. beyond where he stands sits a citadel not too far away, but he can feel the magic barrier protecting it from any harm. whomever lives there must be a rather powerful witch or wizard, and a wanted one, to boot.

there's really only one way to handle this predicament. he needs to pass through, so he'll merely speak with the owner. leaping into the air, he easily walks through it to the citadel's doors, which he raps on three times before crossing his arms over his chest and waiting silently.
