He hadn’t meant to intrude. By every indication of their schedules, Rose should have been free at this time. Of course things had a tendency to come up for Chairman and Champion both, but he’d thought that a second could be spared, just for a quick question.
Leon had already been ready to turn and walk back down the hall when he heard voices coming from the office. It’s what he should have done, but one sounded awfully familiar, and it took only a moment longer of listening to pinpoint why.
Raihan, that voice belonged to Raihan, and he sounded . . . distressed? Frustrated?
Leon hovered outside the closed door, hesitant on whether or not to go in. If his concern was unwarranted, then he ran a serious risk of drawing their ire. But damn it, if something truly was wrong, then he wanted to help.
