Do you know? I never really thought about it before but I think that Dracula is not overly worried about Agatha dying here, simply because he expects her to turn into a vampire.

Otherwise, I don't understand why he would have kept her for all the travel just to let her die now.

It's possible it was just a whim. It's Dracula we are talking about, after all, but it's less fun that way.

I like characters to make sense. Even the fictional ones. 😁

A Small Rant About Vampire Teeth

Disclaimers: none, just a yap session

This is a nothing post, but I want it out of my system. It's crazy how my last three posts (including this one) have had a theme of teeth. I promise I don't have a fetish for it, they are just really interesting to me.

I LOVE when vampires don't have perfect teeth. As of recently, I've realised there is so many more interpretations of vampires. Like I've got an affinity for a lot more grotesque versions of vampires, like the vampire's from I Am Legend (2007) or Priest (2011) and I'll even throw in Van Helsing's (2004) Dracula and brides, rather than the glittery but iconic Cullens or Vampire Diaries.

Now, that's not to say I don't like a handsome/beautiful vampire. I mean, look at Jack O'Connell as Remmick or Claes Bang as Dracula. Those are some attractive men. But they don't try to sell you on their handsomeness by erasing the uniqueness of their teeth.

Now I'm not too sure about Jack O'Connell's process but I assume its similar to Claes Bang where they actually took a mold of his mouth and sculpted fangs that curved with the natural tilt of his teeth.

Master work honeslty.

I like it because they are suggested to be ancient vampire's, it's likely they haven't come across dentistry practices, even more likely that for the time period teeth wasn't put under a microscope as harshly as the modern day. They look plausible.

I hate the concept of things not reaching the beauty standard being made into a horror trope, and for me, by respecting the actors' teeth and incorporating it, it doesn't feel like it's associating crooked teeth as a mark for a villain, but more so humanising these characters. After all, they were people before they were monsters, and I think their teeth is a great visual marker for that.

{a side note if you've bothered to read so far, how would you guys feel if I wrote more gothic stuff? I'd lobe to write fanfics on The Creature from the books and some of the movie adaptions as well as Dracula, maybe even try my hand at original characters or taking in more creative requests rather than just preexisting characters, but I don't want to jump into it if I don't have an audience}
