I finished re-reading Island of the mad, by Laurie King, and it is still one of my favourite of the series. Why?, do you ask (not! 😁). Because :
- Russell and Holmes are almost always together. Even when they have different tasks, they are back with each other after only a day, at the latest.
- It is absolutely hilarious.
- Cole Porter is in this book and he is simply brilliant.
- I so enjoy reading Holmes saying "let's misbehave" [and yes, I know the reference]
- They join forces to help their client in the most mischievous way. 😈
- Russell refers to her husband as a scoundrel and I don't think it is really affectionate at the time.["The heartless scoundrel actually laughed"].
- one of my favourite quote: "It is a precious thing, to be in agreement with one’s husband, particularly when it comes to misbehaviour."
- It is so cute when Russell is distracted by her husband appearance and calls him racy or dashing. 😍
And I'm sure I forgot other details I enjoyed very much.
