Mod Lems: proper Sinell ref!
the youtube algorithm will rec you the darndest things
At the north most point of Hunter’s March a traveler takes a break to get her surroundings. She’s already had a few run-ins with the denizens of the forest and she wants to make sure that she doesn’t have any more trouble with them.
“Let’s see… heading south should be the best bet to avoid them…”
Accompanied Through Karak
“The @stingers-of-the-hive guided me to the sands, where Sh’kal is most likely to be. they seem nice, Sir Jolly is very extravagant while Justin is calm and straightforward.”
Amongst the blowing sands Sinell keeps her eyes open for anything that might lead her to Sh’kal; cuts into stone, tail drags, even the hint of his venom. ‘This place would be perfect for the tribe, but it wouldn’t be home without him…’ She thinks to herself as she carefully aims her stinger at the sands, waiting for the time to strike. ‘I wasn’t able to tell him before he left, and I’m not sure if I can go on without saying it…’
Her tail moves in a flash, striking a sand worm and pulling it upwards. it writhes and screeches before falling limp. ‘He has to be alive, there’s no doubt about that, I just have to keep moving forward.’ Sinell puts the worm on her shoulder before getting up and heading back to camp.
“Sh’kal, the leader of my tribe. He’s a strong man, continually protecting us from the sand worms that would attack us. After a massive attack we were forced to be nomadic, traveling place to place in the hopes to find a proper home.”
“Sh’kal went ahead to scout the trails and find a better place, but it’s been months and he has yet to return.”
“I hope that he’s okay…”
Meeting Again.
The tower was silent, only the distant hash winds from outside were echoing behind her. Sinell was tired; her venom was depleted, her muscles ached, and while the voice was gone she could faintly hear whispers of her words, suggesting that Sh’kal was dead.
What if he was? What if he died months ago and she was chasing a ghost?
Sinell shook their head, pushing her doubt down. He’s not dead, there’s proof that he’s been here and they saw it with their own eyes. And if he was then she’ll take his shell and do a proper burial, but she won’t. For he is not dead.
“Sh’kal! Are you here?” Her voice echoed through the hollow chamber, reaching farther and farther away. “It’s me! Sinell! Please say something!” Her voice was desperate as she called out, her tone wavered as doubt starting to rise again. “Please… I came to look for you… Sh’kal!” Her foot caught on something and she was too tired to catch herself, making her stumble to the ground.
Sinell was so tired. She was on the move for so long and after that fight she felt every ache in her body. Her tail coiled tightly around her, hiding her tears as they rolled down her face. “Sh’kal… I wasn’t ready for you to be gone… I-I wanted to tell you…”
“Tell me what?”
