100 Days of Dolls 002: Create-A-Monster Dragon, Monster High
One reason I’m trying to do 100 days of photographing dolls in my collection, is to appreciate dolls I haven’t had time to look at very closely yet, perhaps, or never fully appreciated. The Dragon CAM is a good example of the latter. She came in a bundle of CAM parts, and I wasn’t very sure about the idea of a pink dragon girl with odd green bits.
In person, though, she’s a lot nicer. I’m still not sold on the pink, but her wings are very cool, and she has striking green-puce scales above her eyes.
I’m not sure the wig she’s wearing is Monster High. It came with that same bundle, and it has a normal CAM wig peg, but it seems very small and oval and the peg is offset from the middle. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to use it, but it just about fits her and I think the colors work really well on her. I wish you couldn’t see the rubber cap on her forehead, and it gives her a very high-looking skull, but I don’t think it looks unnatural.
I wish to Betsy that they’d made Lagoona Blue’s leg fins molded on like that. It would be a shame for them to be ABS plastic instead of jelly blue vinyl or resin, but at least it would mean I would actually find Lagoonas with leg fins instead of a whole Lagoona collection without one single leg fin between them. >:C
Future project: I would like to use the weird little seahorse ears that came with the Color-Me-Creepy sea monster set’s wig, and give her dragonish winged ears.
