Quick Fix For Dragon Pilots

Well guess who was procrastinating for a midterm in 7hrs? Yeah not the best idea but getting to what I procrastinated with; I just finished the whole series for Dragon Pilots Hisone & Masotan and as much as i loved it, there was one really dumb plot point which was that if a dragon pilot falls in love, the dragon basically because jealous and tries to digest the pilot. While I couldn't off the head come up with a replacement conflict just before the climax that would take up the same time, I would just suggest that instead of the resolving the issue so weirdly that the pilots deny having romantic feelings, have the dragons get the fuck over themselves.
What if instead of Masotan being so uninterested in interacting with Hisone while she is figuring things out, he actually come to terms with the idea that two people he has bonded with, Okonogi and Hisone, like each other. Instead of rejecting Hisone for her romantic feelings, he rejects her for some emotional dishonesty? That way its actually about her emotional well being. If she kept denying her feelings instead of accepting them in a run, it would possibly impede her ability to recognize her own needs/wants after growing more cognizant of the situations of others. Sure this would be a cliche but a remarkably healthier one than punishing a girl for having romantic feelings.
This moment could even be played for comedy with when she ends up shouting that she likes him in front of Masotan and Masotan just watches the two stumble over their words that be eats them both and spits them out again, with some ridiculous dragon cuddling afterwards?
Im watching the oddest lil amine on Netflix.
Its about dragons who turn into planes and they swallow their pilots in order to get them into the ‘cockpit’.. The Dragons personally choose their pilots, but app unbeknown to the female only pilots and their commanding officers, the flygirls are secretly priestesses.
Its a rather peculiar to say the least.
