Another piece of advice from someone who takes in applications and helps hire - if you are going to go in, make sure to dress nicely (even if the job doesn't require it) and don't go into the business with friends or family. At one of my previous jobs, our manager had a policy that if someone came in with a group of friends, toss the resume. I've gone into job interviews dressed far too fancy, but the interviewers always appreciate it. Good luck to the anon with the job applications!
