How is your new house? How has married life changed things for you?

the new house is fantastic. we are slowly but surely getting it together. we're going to paint the bedroom in a couple of weeks. i mean we are still using plastic storage tubs as nightstands, but you gotta start somewhere. we bought furniture for the screened in sun porch that's attached to the bedroom and had coffee out there last weekend while it was raining. the cats were in heaven, though there were maybe more bugs than charlotte would have liked. (but it's ok i like bugs and patiently rehoming them.)

also. hmm. how has married life changed things for me... i eat a lot more ice cream than i used to. we inherited a ninja creami and we've made some fantastic ice cream with it. before we moved in together, i ate like one pint of ice cream every two months. but this is a life change i can accept. ice cream is very good.

i also know a lot - a lot - more about hockey than i ever thought i would. i've watched so many hockey games now. my brain is full of names and facts about players. but that's ok. but i am simultaniously making charlotte watch old Survivor seasons and The West Wing with me.

so i guess the moral of the story is that marriage is really about creative desserts and having someone to force your interests upon until you've successfully stockholmed them into also liking the things.

Hey dizzy. This is a thank you message. I’m not active here, but I’ve been following you since 2016 and I guess that anon that talked about teenagers reminded me of so many fond memories I have reading that story and waiting for updates. Not just that, but everything you posted back then. I cannot express how excited I would be any time you posted anything. And for a while, since the hard launch, I’ve found myself in your ao3 page reading all of those one shots and cute fics that made me and so many of us soooo happy. Thank you for keeping them up. I’m also so excited when you write phanfic nowadays!!! I know you’ve been in many fandoms and this phandom hasn’t always been kind to you, but we are all so lucky to have you around still. i have another phanfic coming up soon - it's shamefully, woefully late but i've just been having an extended crisis over writing in general the past few months and sometimes it's hard to break my head out of it. it really makes me look back with fondness of periods in my life where i'm writing regularly and have a fandom i'm super publicly active in.

the whole thing with teenagers fundamentally changed how i interact with fandoms and how open i am, but i did come through all that still able to retain some joy and community from fandom in general. so you don't have to worry about my fics ever disappearing <3

hey so way back in like idk like 2018 or 19 I think I was one of the kids that was harassing u and Sarah about your one fic, teenagers I think it was called? I just wanted to say that I've been weighing on my mind a lot recently and I know I wasn't the only one doing it, and apologizing won't fix anything, but i did just want to say I'm sorry for it. I fell in with a very bad anti crowd when I was 16/17 and the adults in my life in the phandom at the time did not help the situation. now IM the adult and have had time to like reflect on it and realize that it really was not a big deal at all and I don't know why the people that were as old as I am now were egging me on to keep doing it and telling me I was in the right. you guys didn't deserve any of that for something that was literally just a story, and I hope you and Sarah are doing better now

just in case anyone follows me and hasn't seen it i'll stick this under a spoiler

aubry was not my first pick but she was in my top five so i'm not upset at ALL that she won. i think she's badass and i'm thrilled to see someone representing women with anxiety who don't want to be told to smile all the time. i'm even happier that no one from the MAGA alliance once.

i think joe and jonathan were fucking STUPID to bring an og player into the final three with them and should have viewed her as a threat earlier but i'm very glad they underestimated her. i'd have been pretty upset if either of them had won.

i do actually love rizo (and his girlfriend, she's so fucking cute and funny on tiktok) but i didn't need him to win bc i'm positive he'll be back to play again, same as tiff. i really wanted the full circle satisfaction of an og who is extremely unlikely to return taking it home.

cirie is also a goddess among mortals and i don't care if she never wins survivor, she's a legend. i was in a podcast recording chat earlier and they were talking about twists... my suggestion was the Cirie Fields Twist where cirie just gets to enter the game at the final four every time until she wins. her friendship with aubry was so sweet in this game too - like obviously they were not aligned but the distinction between "game we are playing" and "person i care about" was so solid. i hope they do take an island getaway vacation together one day.
