New DragonCon pictures, help needed
Hello, everyone!
I am now in progress of continuing to upload more pictures from DragonCon 2008, and like I said in a previous post, I said I would try to do research on characters being portrayed by the people in costume or anything like that before I began uploading to share, but either some of the research came up bone dry or I am not sure who they are. Remember, at the time my camera was a FujiFilm FinePix A330, which at the time was good but today’s technology pans it out since the FujiFilm’s highest resolution was 2016x1512, so whether it’s quality issues or it’s been a while, I come to you asking for help on verifying these people and characters in the following new pictures:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20888468848/in/dateposted-public/ This woman looks to be portraying a mix of Scottish and cosplay with the costume she’s wearing, but because the tag is so blurred (whether or not it reveals the name of the person/character she’s portraying), I can’t tell for sure.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20888466368/in/dateposted-public/ You regular DragonCon attendees may get onto me for this, but I forgot his name. I will tell you that I do remember that he was once the head of the Star Trek convention portion of DragonCon, but past sources say he’s no longer active with it. If you remember his name, please let me know
Thanks in advance!
DragonCon 2008 pictures to be completed tonight
Good news, ladies and gentlemen! For the past number of nights on Flickr, I have been uploading 10 pictures a night from the event of DragonCon 2008, a convention that happens annually at three different hotels in Atlanta, and cosplayers come from all over the world, dressing up as such awesome characters like Darth Vader, Hobbits, and much more...even making funny versions of them like Elvis Vader, Stormtroopers on vacation, and much more! And since I had been unfamiliar with certain characters before, I have reached out to everyone, including you, the Tumblr community asking for help in identifying them, and I have received some help in properly naming off those characters, and to those who have helped and will help, thank you so much for that.
I have 18 pictures left to upload, but since I’m so close to finishing them up, I will upload the remaining 18 pictures tonight at midnight, Eastern standard time. If you would like to see this album, here’s the link where you can view it and the 18 pictures bound for tonight’s upload:

Two pictures edited
annu-the-cat-girl helped me identify two characters, and my thanks go out to her for correcting me on the following pictures from my recent post asking for help on identifying characters and costumes at DragonCon 2008:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/19712706123/in/dateposted-public/ The plush doll actually is not from Pokemon as I had thought. It's actually Kirara from Inuyasha.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20202224529/in/dateposted-public/ The character on the far left is Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth
These two pictures’ tags and descriptions have been edited accordingly. But to annu-the-cat-girl here on Tumblr, thank you so much for your help!
But to everyone else, there are still some unidentified characters and costumes from DragonCon 2008, and my blog post is the one before this one, or you can simply click HERE.
Help in identifying characters needed
To anyone who knows the comics and movies well, I need some serious help. As some may know, I am currently in progress of uploading pictures from the convention of DragonCon dating back to 2008 onto Flickr. It’s been about seven years since that time, and I have forgotten some of the characters who were portrayed by the patrons who attended DragonCon. Here is a list of current characters that may have slipped my mind or I am unfamiliar with, complete with links to the picture:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20160655105/in/dateposted-public/ Completely do not know who these characters are
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/19537990774/in/dateposted-public/ My guess this costume was from Dr. Who, but I’m uncertain of the character CORRECTION FOUND: It is a Dr. Who character, confirmed to be Dalek
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20166218221/in/dateposted-public/ In this picture, I just recently discovered the girls represent themselves as Team Rocket. But, I am unfamiliar with the center character CORRECTION FOUND: The central character is Snape from Potter Puppet Pals
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20000083400/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/19738597274/in/dateposted-public/ The guy in the first picture wears a portion of this costume that is shown in full in the second picture, but I’m a blank on what they are and where they’re from
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20307440236/in/dateposted-public/ These are two princesses, one wearing a white gown holding a bunny rabbit, while the other wears a pink gown. I suspect the one on the right is Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, but with the pink crown on her head, I can’t be 100% positive on that. I just need clarification on the names of these princesses CORRECTION FOUND: They are both Princess Giselle, the one in pink is the animated character while the one in right is the real-life Giselle
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/19712706123/in/dateposted-public/ I know this girl is holding a Pokemon plush doll, but I'm not sure what the Pokemon is called CORRECTION FOUND: It isn’t a Pokemon, but it’s Kirara from Inuyasha
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/19738611804/in/dateposted-public/ What I’m confused about is the tag of the company this person represents with his costume. It might be S.T.U.D.S., but I just need verification on this
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20380306302/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20200890378/in/dateposted-public/ I know they’re superheroes, but what their names are, it doesn’t show up in search results. They wear light blue suits with yellow boots and yellow gloves, and have an A and a G (respectively) on their suits CORRECTION FOUND: They’re The Ambiguously Gay Duo from Saturday Night Live
https://www.flickr.com/photos/11956161@N06/20202224529/in/dateposted-public/ This is a group shot with the Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood and Princess Zelda as 3 of the characters seen, but the character on the far left is one I can’t remember CORRECTION FOUND: The character is Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth
There may be more to come as time goes by, as I’m only 59 pictures from completing this album. If you have any information about the characters I am having trouble naming, please email me here on Flickr or at [email protected], and the information will be updated accordingly.

This picture is from DragonCon 2008, and is one of my favorites. Peter David has taken the stage with personal favorite George Pérez a number of times for the Masquerade, and is always a pleasure to see and speak with. Sadly, Peter had a stroke over the winter holidays. He's in recovery, though (yay!) but is naturally battling co-pays and the like (it's the beginning of the year - yikes!). If you'd like to help, here's a handy link: http://www.peterdavid.net/2013/01/04/here-is-how-you-can-help-peter/
Because this will never not be glorious. And hilarious. And I love it.
