I find it extremely funny Raistlin be like:
"I hate any unnecessary movement and will gladly spend magic to avoid it, so I will become a war wizard."
Great logic! Its even more hillarious because he is the fastest spellcsster on Krynn.
I mean absolutely canonically:
“I was thinking we could use the library,” said Magius. “When Huma and I visited the tower, I would go to there to study my spellbooks. I can guarantee we won’t be disturbed. It is located on the fourteenth floor.”
“Fourteenth!” Raistlin repeated, aghast, thinking of the long climb.
Magius laughed. “You don’t think I’m going to climb fourteen flights of stairs, do you? I am far too lazy. Take hold of my staff. It will carry us both.”
As Raistlin grasped the staff, Magius spoke the word “Bankat.” At the command, the staff lifted them off the ground. They floated up the stairwell with as much ease as if they’d been made of smoke. Raistlin sighed deeply. He had known that the staff would allow him to fall as lightly as a feather, but he had not known it could give him the power to fly. He wished to the gods that there was some way he could impart this knowledge to his future self.
