AU - Parthvia, An Unexpected Encounter [Closed]
Ah, the man sighed, gulping down another large gulp of water as he glanced at his map. This was quite the predicament he had been placed in. He was running low on food and water, and the nearest city was one he'd rather not return to, Parthevia. He had left that city behind long ago, after his father had been killed in war, and his mother dead from illness. He had been drafted into the army against his will when he was but fourteen, but he had quickly escaped. He wasn't going to fight for a country that didn't care for it's citizens, no matter the consequences. By the grace of Solomon he had managed to escape and survive all these years as a wanderer, but now it seemed fate deemed it necessary to return to that cursed capital.
He groaned and rolled up his map, returning it to the bag laying next to him. It had been eight long years since the day he had left Parthevia for what he thought was for good. He could only hope the stay wouldn't be for very long. He glanced towards the direction he was to head, and he could make out the figure of a tall looming tower in the distance. Oh he he remembered the stories of that tower well, it was Baal, a dungeon that had taken many lives. He had been incredibly close to challenging that death trap as a youth, but after his mother had died he had lost the conviction. Ah, well, it must have not been fated anyway, he would have just gotten himself killed.
After packing up his things, he began in his chosen direction. Sadly, he didn't get very far, as almost as soon as his trek began, the earth decided it was going to shake violently. "W-What?!" He exclaimed, and winced at the light he saw in the distance. It was.. coming from Baal! A few moments later, he opened his eyes. The dungeon had vanished. Somehow, he had this odd ominous feeling in the back of his mind, that today was definitely not going to be a good day.
