BIG THINGSSS ;

MANY THINGS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING. here is a brief, condensed list of some of the wild, whirlwind things that are going on in my life right now:

JAPAN:

i officially accepted a job offer for teaching english in japan and I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT.

i am completing my visa application for working and living abroad in japan.

i will receive more information soon about exactly where i will be living, so if you’re in japan—let me know! i’ve already reached out to a few friends, and i’m SO PUMPED TO SEEEE YOUUU!

exact departure dates will be confirmed within the next few weeks, but current plans are intended for leaving in early january.

i will be in japan from january 2017 to march 2018.

D.C. WEEKEND/RENNFAIRE/@dragonsinparis :

I AM LITERALLY SO EXCITED FOR THIS I CANNOT EXPLAIN!!!!!!

i am flying into washington d.c. tomorrow afternoon, abigail is going to pick me up, we’re going to go EAT FOOD and BATTLE-PLAN and SHOP FOR FABRICS AND THINGS (and also baking adventure supplies) because

GUESS WHO IS GOING TO THE RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL OF MARYLAND THIS WEEKEND and GUESS WHO IS CONSTRUCTING THEIR COSTUME FROM SCRATCH OVER THE COURSE OF THE NEXT 2-3 DAYS???!?!?

our weekend is literally going to be a “den of perpetual creativity & productivity”

we are going to sew and eat food and watch movies and WRITE FIC TOGETHER and beta fic together (IN-PERSON) and i am going to bake her things

honestly, just invite me into your life guys I WILL BAKE IN THE NAME OF LOVE AND GRATITUDE

it is going to be a wild ride of sewing madness and baking shenanigans and so much tea (& coffee) and wine, lbr

NEW YORK (CITY) WEDDING & ALADDIN ON BROADWAY & STARTING A NEW JOB:

monday i am off to visit upstate new york! for me, “moving across the world in four months” means “take more time to actually visit family,” so this will be the start of at least two wild adventures to go get my life together before uprooting it completely

next thursday i return to boston, only to: (1) arrive home, (2) unpack, (3) do laundry, (4) re-pack, and (5) the next morning i’ll wake up and turn around and complete a massive road trip to new york city (with a pitstop in connecticut along the way to pick somebody up) for a full-on wedding weekend (yes, another one—but i’m not a part of the bridal party this time!).

wedding weekend STARTS by arriving friday afternoon and almost immediately going to see ALADDIN ON BROADWAAYYYYYYYYY

then saturday is the actual wedding!!!!

saturday night wedding rave

sunday morning post-wedding brunch, if any of us are even functioning at that point

back to boston on sunday night, one day of recovery on monday, and tuesday i start my brand new job!!!

at some point through all of this wild, wild adventuring, i hope to:

complete the jelsa mermaid au entirely

catch up completely on @dragonsinparis‘ fic, state of grace, including all retroactive beta edits

complete one or two wedding-ish drabbles because after two weddings in four weeks in two countries i figure WHY NOT

HAVE I MENTIONED THAT THESE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS ARE GOING TO BE WILD

here is a brief list of some of the WONDERFUL THINGS THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY:

i met abigail ( @dragonsinparis ) in PERSON

(after approx. 2 years of online friendship!!!!!!)

i think i nearly killed her with the, like, five miles walking we did, SORRY SORRY

abigail and i played a game where every time we (a) passed by/spotted something that had been explicitly referenced/mentioned in and/or (b) had inspired something in one of my stories, we took a selfie with it

(we also took a selfie with the duckling statues in the garden, BUT THAT IS UNRELATED TO FANFICTION, that is simply an obligatory photo experience, okay)

we ate delicious thai food and drank beer and coffee and chai tea and not necessarily in that order

WE SPENT AT LEAST 1-2 HOURS IN PANERA, talking fandom and brainstorming fanfiction ideas and WRITING FIC TOGETHER and it was just. the greatest thing ever.

did i mention that abigail and i walked all over the goddamn city, BECAUSE WE DID

we even walked along the esplanade for a good mile or so even though it was windy and a bit chillier and ABIGAIL IS FROM WARMER TERRITORIES

(i was just like, “FIND A PLACE IN THE PARK TO WAIT FOR ME UNTIL I GET THERE, BASK IN THE SUNSHINE LIKE A CAT” and abigail essentially responded with “i am sitting in peet’s and getting a hot caffeinated beverage” okay)

ABIGAIL IS THE SWEETEST AND ACTUALLY SEWED ME PRESENTS???!?????!?!? i will post pictures of the first half very soon! it’s a lovely elsa aesthetic pencil pouch that i am going to treasure for all time 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

also i definitely persuaded abigail to download and start using snapchat, and I AM STILL REAPING THE REWARDS OF THIS NEW DEVELOPMENT TODAY ♥♥♥♥♥

we also may or may not have veered off into the journals/notebooks section of my fave bookstore which, AS WE ALL KNOW, is probably the most fucking dangerous place for any of us to be EVER

it was just so nice and we are so DOING THIS AGAIN SOON ♥♥

essentially i just wanted to share what a wonderful experience it was to FINALLY be able to reach out and hug a friend who’s been a constant source of interesting meta tumblr posts, funny texts (re: emojis), productive and lovely skype sessions, and some of the most hilarious google doc beta comments (most of which involve some variation of “BITE ME”), and I AM JUST SO VERY GRATEFUL THAT WE HAD THE CHANCE TO SPEND THE WHOLE DAY TOGETHER and also to have learned literally the second that i saw you that you are shorter than me. ♥♥♥♥

celebrated the daylight savings time-switch by hiking out onto the trails with my hazelnut iced coffee for a few bright, lovely hours in the earlyish morning

am currently capitalizing on my high-energy and overwhelming feelings of NATURE by revisiting my old panera and drinking a tiiiiny bit more iced coffee and writing fic

almost done with reading the matthew stover’s novelization of revenge of the sith and i am furious with anyone who ever encouraged me ever to actually join this godforsaken fandom

this week is going to be GREAT for many reasons but just in case you have forgotten

ABIGAIL ( @dragonsinparis ) IS COMING TO VISIT THIS WEEKENEEDDDNENDNNNEDNNEND

we will be spending THE WHOLE SATURDAY TOGETHER it is going to be the most glorious shitshow ever
