Hi, Are you aware of any examples of actual Targaryens (not just suspected or just someone with some blood but not the name) being rejected and killed by an unbonded dragon when trying to bond with it and ride it? Thanks.

A Targaryen killed by an unbonded dragon? No. (By a bonded dragon, yes.) However, Archmaester Gyldayn says:

The largest and oldest of the wild dragons was the Cannibal […] Would-be dragontamers had made attempts to ride him a dozen times; his lair was littered with their bones. None of the dragonseeds were fool enough to disturb the Cannibal (any who were did not return to tell their tales).

Even for a son of House Targaryen, there are always dangers in approaching a strange dragon, particularly an old, bad-tempered dragon who has recently lost her rider. His father and mother would never allow him to go near Vhagar, Aemond knew.

So, because of the many failed attempts on the Cannibal, and because “there are always dangers” even for a Targaryen, there may have been deadly incidents we are yet unaware of. (Perhaps one of the children of Jaehaerys and Alysanne that did not live to adulthood?) If ever something happened, I would expect to see it in Fire and Blood, so we’ll find out this November.

So I've been working on a story about dragon tamers in the modern world. So far I've brainstormed quite a few breeds of dragons that'd exist in this story's universe. SO, I figured it'd be fun to make various posts from time to time from the Viewpoint of a field research professor on Dragons and the study of various breeds. His name will be Professor Fredrick Hendricks and does field research on them as his dream job. I'll probably post them like research notes or journal entries.

Me yet again plugging my work...well, the two ones that are most currently updated.

This one is called "Dragontamers", which was me deciding at one point to do a female Jounouchi because reasons. Also because Kaiba/Jounouchi is as fun as Yami/Yugi, the two main ships in this series ;-)

It's all basically a rewrite of Yu-gi-oh, mostly of the manga, with Jounouchi having always been a girl and having a bit of a history with Kaiba. Right now, it's up to the beginning of Battle City, and while it won't be taking a break in the middle like the anime did, some bits from the anime or from YGOA can make it in there. Currently, it's updating on every-other Sunday/Monday (because I drank a lot of coffee on Sundays and I end up awake into Monday morning for my job) and it's sadly unbeta'd, though I do have someone I should be sending the draft to ^^;
