2 and 7 for Drake, 4 and 6 for Karina UwU
How does your character perceive themselves? Positive? Negative? Neutral?[Drake]To someone on the outside, Drake seems to be pretty self-assured. He knows what he's good at, knows his skills and projects an air of confidence whenever he's doing things he's familiar with! He'll happily write down good things about himself if asked!
However, the boy carries a lot of guilt on his shoulders. He's not going to ever forgive himself for his past mistakes, and if anyone tries to argue with him about them, he'll snap back with the fact that he deserves whatever negative things come his way. [See: his murder trial in aftee]Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?[Karina]
She stutters when nervous! Depending on just how bad said nervous spell is, her stutter either increases or decreases - and if it's really bad (such as during her worst panic attacks), it'll turn into a stammer and she'll be quite difficult to understand.
Karina also tends to use the word 'folks' instead of 'people' a lot. And, being Canadian, sometimes she slips and uses the typical 'eh' ending to a question. She'll mentally kick herself for it though.
As for getting her thoughts across clearly, she'll try her best! Karina's the type to sit and consider her words carefully before speaking, but of course sometimes she'll have to apologize for not being clear enough when trying to give advice or offering a metaphor to help aid understanding.
If you were to pick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why?[Karina]AUGH BRI YOU PICKED A HARD ONE.Hmmm. HMMMMMMM.
Yeah, okay, I'm going to go with Bastille's Sleepsong for this. It's quite self-explanatory in the lyrics, especially the second verse.
But yeah, basically: Karina is, at her core, a very lonely girl? She tends to keep to herself really, after the repeated cycle of 'make friend, begin to really care about said person, who then leaves somehow'. But she doesn't deal well with the feeling of loneliness, and honestly just wants someone to actually think she's worth sticking around for - someone that genuinely, won't leave. And she has sleep problems too! ("Go to sleep on your own and wake each day with your thoughts") Post-despair, Karina pretty much becomes an insomniac.
"Your mother warned of strangers and the dangers they would bring" is a bit of a dark line when you consider that Karina's mother was very controlling and emotionally manipulative, too. (coughs quietly and well, this could just refer to murder school and the fact that honestly, you couldn't really trust anyone there. COUGHS LOUDER NOT LOOKING AT ANYONE IN PARTICULAR DANNY )
