A Rant on Dreams
As you've probably noticed, some dreams can be really top notch. I'm talking visually amazing, with exciting plots and quick witted dialog, the whole shebang. Even nightmares, while terrifying, deserve props for their great effects. On the other hand, every so often, you get the really crappy ones that are basically low budget remakes some cranial executive pushed through because the original was so popular. I had this one nightmare, outright awe-inspiring! It had everything: a horrifying villain, a desolated spooky locale, a set of death defying trials that faced me against gruesome traps and hulking monsters, even the gradual picking off of my loved ones. It scarred me real good, like any significant nightmare should. Anyway, last night this dream comes on that is obviously a terrible semi-squeal thing to that last one. The plot was exactly the same but this time instead of a giant creepy mansion it took place in some random condo. They were too cheap to hire the old villain again, so this time the bad guy was my drama teacher. The traps were laughable and the monsters pitiful. And the ending was super disappointing too, I just flew away and called the cops. Seriously, where's the suspense in that!? I don't know if I'm more disappointed at myself for sitting through entire thing or at the dream industry for pumping out complete unimaginative drivel.
