Things were already strange enough in the Kurasaki’s lives. They lived in a city where gang violence was common and anything could happen, but today, they had no explanation for what occured.
The two had decided to take a break and visit the beach where they discovered an old cave and decided to explore a bit. When they left though, things looked different. The beach was empty, and they couldn’t see the trail that led to the parking lot anymore.
“What’s going on...?” The older brother, Yukito, spoke softly as the two made their way through the tree’s. “We left the cave the same way we entered....” The younger sister, Luka, trailed close behind. Something didn’t feel right. She could almost feel like they were being watched as they walked, but she tried to brush it off.
Soon enough, the two discovered what looked like an old shrine or temple, and Luka jumped up the steps. “What on earth is this doing here?” She asked. “I didn’t know there were any shrines in this area.”
“There isn’t supposed to be.” Yukito came up behind her, but stopped when he heard a snap, like someone - or something - stepped on a branch just beyond the trees behind them. The two turned quickly, frozen as they eyed the forest around them. After a moment, Luka let out a small sign.
“Probably just a deer... or something....” She slowly turned towards the door once again, and noticed something. “What’s this piece of paper...?” She reached her hand out, slowly peeling the paper off the door.
“Luka, I don’t think you should--” As soon as the paper was removed, there was a large gust of wind. Something immediately felt off. There was a sound from inside the shrine, and the two quickly backed away from the door. They glanced at the paper - A seal to ward off evil. To keep whatever was inside from getting out. The two looked at each other in shock, and jumped as the door to the shrine slammed open. The felt their hearts drop, there was nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide.
