Here’s the gist of it. Dallas Margolin is trans, jewish, depressed & friendless in Oregon. Then he meets Poppy Rajkhowa & Malek Solh, who become his best friends. Dallas develops feelings for Malek.( And it looked like Malek was reciprocating). 

But then Malek goes missing.
