I once tried to take part in the Dreadful Project the Brookly Art Library announced. Places were full the very same day (it was a free project). Though I was a bit disappointed, I still wanted to draw this theme.

A little something for the Dreadful Project

The Sketchbook Project has partnered with Showtime to support their new original series "Penny Dreadful" by inviting our community to set their nightmares to paper in The “Dreadful” Project.

For this FREE project you can sign up and we’ll mail you the official “Dreadful” Project card, to sketch and narrate a little piece of your own horror tale, inspired by the theme In the Shadows. Illustrate a monster, create an eerie scene, share your greatest fear or whatever lurks within us all.

This is project is open to only 1,000 participants, though select works may be featured in a special insert in The New Yorker and online. See full rules on our Project Page and visit NewYorkerOntheTown.com for more on this unique project.
