The most interesting ideas in Sonic Boom.
Although Sonic Boom is primarily a comedy series, I believe it had some interesting ideas and characters. I'll discuss some of these ideas in this post.
--------------------------------
5 - Sticks the Badger.
This one is obvious, and I don't think I need to say much about Sticks, but since she was introduced in Sonic Boom, she at least needs a mention here. Anyway, Sticks is cool, probably the best addition Sonic Boom made to the franchise, and I'm happy to see that many people liked her and didn't find her so annoying. I hope she reappears in the franchise someday because (as far as I know) Ian Flynn wanted to include her in the IDW comics, but it seems SEGA hasn't allowed it yet, which is sad. However, sooner or later, I believe Sticks will return, and I think it would be cool to delve deeper into her conspiracy theories and break the fourth wall more often than the other characters.

4 - Morpho.
Although the idea of a shapeshifter was better utilized in IDW's Mimic, I believe Morpho was something quite unique for the franchise. Morpho being a robot from another universe whose universe was destroyed by his creator is quite interesting. I also loved the detail of him wearing blue and being blonde, just like Maria Robotnik; I think that was a cool reference in his design. It would be cool to have a new version of Morpho in the IDW comics, and I can imagine him still being a robot, but perhaps not created by Eggman. It could be a universe where Eggman was never born, but Gerald created a robot to accompany Maria, and that robot is Morpho? Something like that.

3 - An Eggman who's not so evil.
Dr. Eggman has always been a villain who occasionally helps the heroes when necessary and still has a certain attachment to some characters (especially Sage). However, he is still mostly an antagonist and has caused several disasters that some people consider irredeemable. For example, remember when he released a Primordial God (Dark Gaia) just to create his Eggmanland? Or when he released a virus on many people and caused a Metallic Apocalypse? And I won't even mention what he did in the Archie comics.
Although I know Sonic Boom is a comedy and tries to be lighthearted, I still find it incredible that the Eggman in Sonic Boom is the "goodest" version of the character. Sure, there are alternate versions where he's a good person, but I'm talking about a version where he's still a villain, but has a benevolent side to him, and that Eggman is the one from Sonic Boom. Like, he attacks Team Sonic and the village daily, but even so, there are moments when he's friends with everyone. Eggman is Amy's Fuzzy Puppy Buddie, he helped Tails get the girl he was in love with, he saved Sonic several times. Not only that, but he also manages to have more common sense and reasoning than many of the villagers. There's also an episode where he transforms into a cute animal and everyone teases him for it, but Beth (The Shrew) showed compassion and tried to be nice to him. In fact, Eggman transformed into the animal just to save Beth from the trash compactor, even knowing that it would reset the countdown for the mutation to disappear.
Yes, Eggman from Sonic Boom is my favorite version of the character.

2 - The Lightning Bolt Society.
Although the Lightning Bolt Society (LBS) is seen as a joke in the series, I found the idea of a cult/secret group of inventors who hate both Eggman and Sonic fascinating. I can imagine a version of the LBS in the IDW universe, but used by the brightest/most intelligent minds in the franchise (except Eggman and maybe Tails). Like, imagine if Starline comes back and creates a secret group of geniuses to take down Eggman and Sonic? I can imagine something like that. Of course, the cult doesn't need to be called the "Lightning Bolt Society," but I think using that idea would be cool to see in a more serious version.

1 - DREAMCASTER!
Dreamcaster, perhaps Eggman's second greatest creation in Sonic Boom (behind Metal Sonic). Where do I even begin? Dreamcaster is a character I feel SHOULD already be in the IDW comics, because besides having an incredible design, he's a huge threat with his hypnotic powers and was the only character who managed to control most of Team Sonic in the series. Of course, he ended up losing to Sticks, but even so, I thought the idea of a robot/entity having hypnotic powers and controlling through dreams was incredible. However, Dreamcaster isn't the only one with this dream power, because there's also Ariem in "Sonic Dream Team". I believe an interaction between Dreamcaster and Ariem would be really cool to see, maybe having Ariem represent people's good dreams and Dreamcaster represent their nightmares? Something like that. Furthermore, I believe Dreamcaster could even rebel against his creators and become a threat himself; he has so much potential, and I would love to see him back in the franchise.
Maybe one day I'll make a post about how I would reimagine the Dreamcaster in the Sonic franchise.
