re: sexualized teen shows, i was put off by Sex Education & Big Mouth for all those reasons, and then just rewatched Easy A for kicks the other day and was like ???? maybe i was just a repressed nerd in high school, but NOBODY cared about other peoples' sex lives that much. maybe there was gossiping or bullying within friend groups, but this idea that high school is a) RULED by sexual urges, and b) high schoolers are constantly getting up to this wild, adventurous shit is really bizarre to me

i was definitely a lil nerd in high school (i FOUNDED the comics/video games club, i third wheeled at prom, classic high school geek shit) and it wasn’t like my high school friends weren’t having sex, they for sure were, but it wasn’t something we all discussed as a student body. the thought of that, like, baffled me then and baffles me now
