Gnarly fuckin' dream where I was... We were? Right uh... There were three of us in Nazi Germany, and for our own reasons we all wanted a way out. We met a man who offered a place on a night boat to Britain, in exchange for a large sum of money. We'd have to board a bus on a certain day that would take us there, and hide in the back of a shop until we could. Long story short, we did. We arrived at the boat and it had been a ruse. We were wrapped in heavy chains and thrown off the dock. As we drowned, tumbling down the seabed, we saw the many others who had been murdered this way. Some we knew, others we didn't. We died in horror and confusion. They found us in 1925. Draining a lake for construction. That's 20 years earlier. In entirely the wrong place. The receding water revealed us, so many of us, sat firmly on the lakebed, weighed down, partially submerged in tar. We were still alive, only we weren't human anymore. Before anybody could approach we sank into the tar, jagged teeth and inhuman eyes. We could emerge from the inky blackness beneath any water. Anywhere. Any time. Only there was one body of blackness greater than any other, the blackness of space. We - and we were now one vengeful spirit able to take on any form - used this to travel the breadth of time, seeking out the descendants and the ancestors of those who had killed us. We would find them. Drown them in their own saliva. And take their form. Their legacy would go on, but they would never ever know peace.
