     “ ah, as sharp as ever, Madame Vastra. ” the doctor applauded as the earthling reptile so effortlessly piloted their time machine, they hadn’t expected she would have picked up the intricate controls so quickly - especially when they themselves still struggle with some of the mechanics, even after nearly four millennia of piloting the thing.

    “ yep, the oscillator is oscillating ... the relativity differentiator is differentiating annnnd ... ah! the kettle is boiled! fancy a cuppa?  ”

It’s not often that he’s caught off guard. As quick as he is on his feet - his mind moves just as quickly. When he is surprised, it’s almost like his whole mind slows down to an immediate stop, a jarring feeling for someone that is used to moving a million miles an hours (an exaggeration). She’s a friendly person: one of the first things he noticed about her was her kind nature, and he’s so used to fighting and war that she really is just peace. Being around her has caused him to slow down every time, and for someone who thought at a much quicker pace than an average person, it took him far too long to realize why exactly. It’s impulsive though, the kiss, and far too off center, and probably uninvited in the first place. “I’m sorry.” The words are quick, and not even in English - the embarrassment causing him to revert immediately to his native language without even thinking of the fact that she doesn’t speak it.
