I am up to hanging out with you, but please do take your medication - it’s very important to create a stable basis and I don’t mean to lecture because you’ve probably heard it before? So ignoring my rambling, let’s hang! :3
Yeah! I know. I am really good about taking meds. But since this one is labeled 'as needed' it is really difficult for me to judge if I need it or not. It also makes me pretty sleepy so I kind of judge if I can just make it through the anxiety and go home to do some work - or stay there and be sleepy but not anxious.
Are you sticking around over Thanksgiving break? I don't think I'll be doing a hell of a lot.
A/N: I'm sorry I'm so late with this Katie! I owe you a lot of apologies. (And more of this verse considering you were literally the inspiration for it.) Have this for now and again I'm very sorry. Last Drabble
Yet he couldn't bring himself to clear it out because he still needed to talk to the other man. To apologize for avoiding him, to maybe ask about Jack's involvement, and to hopefully at least get on more even ground with Ryan. Even if the even ground wasn't them holding hands and sharing a bed. Michael was frustrated with himself- and had to admit that maybe he needed some help figuring this out.
It was supposed to have been Ray who was going to come over after work and help him. Gavin was useless at these sort of things, Lindsay would have broken into Ryan's room and left all the froyo there, and Kdin would stare at Ryan like he was a dumbass. So Ray was his best shot- only Ray didn't show up towards the end of Michael's shift like he promised. Instead, his only company for the last hour of it was someone who looked liked they needed to take a five year nap. Cool tattoos though.
For a bit it wasn't too bad, the man had introduced himself as Geoff and seemed to be okay with hanging out by the counter to talk to him instead of anywhere else in the empty area. They'd talked about Halo for a solid twenty minutes before anything had really gone wrong. Though, it wasn't so much that it went wrong- it's that the conversation took a turn he wasn't expecting and didn't really want right now. Flirting. Geoff was flirting with him, telling Michael horrible jokes, and smiling like he didn't have to worry about the other's reaction. The worst part was Michael found himself actually relaxing a bit and playing back- until the guy asked for his number.
"Listen man...We only just met and that's really fucking forward of you." Michael said cautiously, eyes narrowed.
"Well I can't come in here everyday and hope you're going to be here." Geoff replied with a shrug. "I just want to talk to you more, you're funny."
"Thanks but seriously, I'm not interested in any sort of-"
"Woah woah woah! Dude I was joking. I would never- Ryan's already made it clear- I just wanted to meet you and oh shit I'm stupid as dicks I fucked up. You didn't hear that."
"Ryan already made what clear?"
"That's something you should ask him about." Geoff said with a sigh. "Such a shame too, because you've got such a cute face. Seriously though, talk to him will you? He's moping like a teenager."
"Only teenager? Good, there's still time."
"Hurry before he reaches tween!"
"Huh...I wonder what he looked like as a tween."
"Tell you what- talk it out with him and I'll convince Jack to bring out the old photo album and show you."
"Are you bribing me?"
"Abso-fucking-lutely. I mean, it seems like you like Ryan considering how you've not only put up with Jack but with me now too- and I'm sure he can deal with your froyo obsession even if it means he can't bring home frozen dinners."
"Froyo obsession? Shit." Michael groaned and put his head in his hands. "I was bringing those home to try to give to him. Y'know, to say sorry."
"And what after the first one didn't work you just kept bringing more?"
"I don't know what type he likes. Or brand. I kept freaking out- and this is not a public conversation."
"So give me your number and we can text about it."
"That seems like a pretty shit idea."
"Only if Ryan doesn't alrea-wait. Does Ryan have your number?"
"No."
"Oh my God, you two are fucking idiots. I'm going to go grey from this entire thing. Fuck it, when do you get off work?"
"About 20 minutes."
"Good, we're heading to your place."
"What? I just met you! You can't just invite yourself into my dorm-"
"I can when I've known your roommate for years and know that he'll be home by then sulking. Just like you were before I came in. You two are a match made in heaven, and you're going to fucking talk to one another."
"Flirting and threatening me all within one conversation? God damn dude."
"I'm serious. We're going to go talk to Ryan, and if you don't fucking clear things up with him soon I'm going to go insane. I'll help, I'll get Jack to help, fuck I'll get Joel if that's who you need to jumpstart you into actually speaking words but for the love of God, actually tell Ryan-"
"Tell Ryan what?" A third voice raised from just outside the door. "That you were supposed to be meeting me by the library and you ditched me for some frozen yogurt? You didn't even get me any. I'm hurt Geoff, I thought our friendship was special."
"It is- but you're an asshole and I had to meet the 'cute froyo guy' because you'd left me without a math tutor twice for him." Geoff made air quotes with his fingers, and Michael was trying his best to disappear into the back before either of them could turn on him again. He wasn't ready, didn't know what to say, and God damn it that was the worst time for Ryan to come.
"Geoff."
"Ryan."
"Let's leave before you bother him anymore, I ache in sympathy just knowing that you've been here for a minute. Poor kid's probably scarred for life."
"Fuck you."
"My! What would Jack say?"
"That the bed isn't large enough for a threeway."
"...You've actually asked him before haven't you?"
"It was supposed to be a joke!"
"To be fair to him, it is hard to tell when you're joking. Considering you're a joke yourself."
"Asshole, don't you have a dorm you should be cleaning?"
"No, I have a jerk I should be helping who decided to run away from homework."
"Uh, I hate to interrupt your lover's spat but I need to close up." Michael said, eyes darting between the two of them. It was almost surreal to see Ryan worked up instead of laughing like he had been with Jack.
"We'll get out of your way. Sorry, Michael."
"I'm leaving, I'm leaving." Geoff frowned, pausing for a moment to address Michael fully. "But I meant what I said. And if it comes down to it, I'm not going to step in to speak for you. No one can wait forever."
