"....How does that...?"
POINTS AT THIS POST. LOOKS AT SHADOW. ❝ Officer, it was him! ❞
“of course santa’s real! i wouldn’t pay any mind to people saying o- otherwise.”

Glances over at Banjo. That’s right -- this little walking Star Spirit thing isn’t something he sees every day, right?
@dreamycollective -- alice !
verloc was a prime suspect of the stetson. a horrendous, nasty coward who believed that humans were nothing more than live subjects. used them every which way he could; swinging them up and around his hand to control them left and right. his words were smooth and slow -- penetrating into the most guarded of minds. an unfortunate use of manipulation, as the types who were dumb enough to listen, were taken as experiments. such disgust. if he hadn’t already heard of the business that these people put dr. faraday through, these sorts of scientific messes would have been more than enough to push him over. and so today, jesse was up and ready to save every last one of them. no matter how many there were.
it was easy to infiltrate. don his work uniform. those folk under him -- dressed in blue, knew better than to deny him entry. it’s not a matter of dr. verloc not wanting anymore interruptions; it was the matter of keeping their jobs. a thankful position to have, as regrettable as it was to mccree to wear the uniform. it spread the lies of peace and help. but this, what he was doing right now, is true peacekeeping and assisting. the innocent souls within; it did not ever occur to jesse how many there would be. albeit, he could not quit. and he wouldn’t.
since wearing his uniform granted such permission, it was like a cakewalk. strutting through the levels of the factory did hardly anything to his safety. rather, it brought upon confusion. it looked as though someone had already been here. as workers were all down and out. almost every last one of them. thankfully they all were alive, as gloved hands upon neck proved so. even so, it’s all quite peculiar. a matter he would have to dive into soon, for certain. now though, it was pertinent to retrieve those locked up and save them.
traveling in, through, and out the joy-fogged floors initially had brought the stetson to the head-honcho’s office. mister, and unfortunately doctor, verloc himself. but he was long gone. a open pathway was all that was left, along with the odd stench of burning hair. what the hell was happening here?
suspicion grew as down back he went, the stairs spiraling out nearly forever. a hoarded room and a half later, along with the push of conveyor belts, he finally came to the hallways of every last test dummy. but instead of most cages being littered with a person or two, there was but one. a very young woman, locked up tight. black hair that hadn’t seen cleanliness in years. body was similar; covered in dirt, bruises, and scratches. what the hell had they done with her? and who is she if she . . . seems this young?
“ young lady? e’scuse me? can ya hear me? “ fists are up, pounding upon the glass. how the hell did they get inside these things? was there a secret door somewhere? brown gaze had shifted momentarily to his feet, looking around and about the floor. but the woman was more important. would she listen to him, even if he donned his uniform? “ constable mccree here. i’m here to getcha out! “

Why is his “Camille is doing something sketchy” sense going off?
@dreamycollective 💖d for a starter! For Jack!
“ No way. I don’t believe that, and I have seen plenty of weird shit in my day, including the Space Krakken. ” Bardock squinted, searching the being for a zipper or a line of buttons. A seam of velcro. “ That’s gotta be a costume. You can’t be a real, walking skeleton. ”
