I'm always fascinated to see these huge dredges coming into the narrow, shallow waters of the marinas. They aren't working today, but when they are the tall poles next to the cranes are driven down into the mud to keep the barges in place. There are plans to protect this harbor from sea level rise with floodgates, as part of a larger plan to save downtown and some neighborhoods from flooding.
