OTP ask meme: 17, 8, 9, 2 - for myri/alistair <3
Thank you, Kai! Have a bit of my Diva Warden in not the most flattering light. 😉
2. What does this OTP have in common with one another?
Setting aside all the Grey Warden/Blight stuff, Myri and Alistair are both orphans that were indoctrinated by the Chantry at young ages, on opposite sides of the mage/Templar coin. They find family in unexpected places. Beyond that, they’re both fierce in combat, both preferring to fight up close, very intelligent (although Myri tends to wear this trait on her sleeve more than Ali), and feel a strong sense of duty to the causes they support.
8. What would they consider the most romantic thing that happened between them?
9. What was their worst fight about? Who apologized first & how?
As you probably know, Myri and Al have an open marriage with polyamorous leanings (sex, continuous flings, even a more serious girlfriend/boyfriend are all allowed), with pretty clear cut boundaries, and their marriage is always at the top of the hierarchy. The nature of their relationship is typically long distance, so this works for them.
Myri had been seeing Ser Pascal Eaton, the Knighted second son of a lesser Arl. They got a bit too attached and Ser Pascal wanted to take up residence with Myri while not actively serving. Myri and Al share a bit about their partners, so she casually drops this in a letter to Alistair, and when I tell you he crossed the Fereldan border with haste…
Myri, of course, apologized. Without seeing your loved one often, it can be difficult to anticipate their reactions. She decided it was best to end her relationship with Ser Pascal. There was talk of closing the marriage, and for a while it was necessary to rebuild a bit of trust. Things are back to normal, with boundaries firmly set.
17. How do they comfort one another?
Long distance, they can only use words. Myri makes every effort to let Alistair know she’s safe and always thinking of him. Alistair does the same.
When they’re together, they’re rarely not touching. Platonic reassuring touches, constant hand holding, just being together, because soon it’s back to words on parchment.
