Yeah, I think a LOT of us can relate to this right about now. I’ve never been PALER in Spring than I am right now. lol
This morning I was clip-clopping through the third floor stairwell of my office building. I don’t work on the third floor, it’s a completely separate department that I have no contact with; it’s just where the good coffee lives. I passed someone on the stairs, and we glanced at each other and gave polite smiles. Then …
Work It: 10 Ways to Be Fashionable in the Office
Work It: 10 Ways to Be Fashionable in the Office
These days, dressing for work is more about comfort, practicality and style than it is about formality. In fact, according to a recent study, only one in 10 employees wear a suit to work, and seven in 10 employees say they feel more comfortable when dressing casually for work.
But even though we no longer have to suffer through stiff polyester blazers and wool skirts doesn’t mean there…

Dressing for Work in the Winter
Dressing for Work in the Winter
It is not easy to pick out a workday outfit every weekday all year and when its winter it can be even harder to know what to wear. You will want to look professional and stay warm.
So here is a quick guide of what to wear to work in the winter.
To the Corporate Office
Corporate offices like a law firm or an accounting firm will not allow for that much playfulness in your work wear, but you can still have a little fun with your outerwear.
Try layering opaque black tights with ankle boots and a fitted knit dress. Layer a statement coat over the top like a pink one to follow the new pink trend.
To a Client Meeting
It can be challenging to dress for an important client meeting in the winter. Start with a knee-high socks and a wool wide leg trouser. Pair this with a sophisticated black turtleneck and layer on some pearls for a professional look.
With your outerwear try a fur-trimmed coat.
To Your Start Up Job
If you work in a place that doesn’t really have a dress code then you have the freedom to be creative. Add a little polish with faux leather leggings or coated denim and layer this with a classic denim shirt with a faux fur vest.
Try some wool socks with a kick ass pair of Adidas sneakers and beanie.
Casual Friday
Take casual Friday easy in a pair of stretchy black skinny jeans with Chelsea boots and a striped sweater.
Add some color with a structured bag and beret.
Working from Home
Do you work from home? Then you are super lucky. Instead of being in your pj's all day, make the effort and wear an outfit that makes you feel like you do still have things to do.
Put on your favorite pair of skinny denim leggings, a comfy grey sweater and some shearling-lined slippers.

What do u normally wear to work? I hit a slump with officewear and need some inspiration
Disclaimer: My office is extremely casual, so if your work environment is really corporate I’m probably the wrong person to ask.
Most days I tend to stick to a uniform. I’ll wear black or dark denim ankle-length cropped jeans, flats, and a sweater. If it feels too plain, I’ll add a silk scarf or a belt. If I’m pitching or seeing clients, I will actually dress up. My go-to outfits for those days are dresses with lower heels, fitted black pants with a nice top, or slacks with a sweater and flats.
A couple of really great items in neutral colors can carry you through, as long as you’re able to get creative with how they’re styled. For instance, a well-fitted button-down can be tucked into a skirt, worn with jeans and boots, or go underneath a sweater and paired with dressy pants. With work clothes, I like to imagine at least a few different outfits I can get out of a single item.
I’ve also found that regardless of what the weather is like, layers are sort of crucial in any office environment. There are days when our office is incredibly hot, and there are also days when the air conditioning is on full blast. I actually keep a heavy cardigan at my desk for that reason.
The other key to work attire is comfort. If I have to wear something for an extended period of time, it needs to be comfortable or else it’s just too distracting.
Anyway, that’s just my two cents on dressing for work. It’s hard! Coming up with something great every day is just unrealistic, but - in my experience - reworking basics you feel great in is the best way to do it.
How to get away with wearing pajamas to work
How to get away with wearing pajamas to work
I recently had a revelation when I bought a pair of sweat pants from H&M. These grey drawstring trousers are so soft and slouchy that they’re basically pyjamas, and yet I wore them to work and didn’t get taken to one side and told to go home and change. How? I’ll tell you how. It’s all in the styling.
