Trend alert: Dresses over pants!
Trend alert: Dresses over pants!
My mother’s favorite outfit till date is her 2 piece embroidered Danshiki and matching skirt(it would be pants if she liked pants), and as far back as I can remember it’s her go to style whenever her tailor doesn’t suggest a style she likes. I thought the style was neat and wasn’t particularly interested till quite recently. If your street style is up to par then get in here! As far as street…

Dress over pants? Dress over pants.
Very classy dress over pants.
What do you think, smile or pout? Went with (local, handmade) copper earrings against the denim, as my butterscotch amber seemed a little too yellow against the unbleached linen in my shoes and cotton in my crop top. And as on point as it might be for denim and white, at least from an 80s perspective, I’m not a diamond (conflict bad!) or a pearl (animal product bad!) girl. Love that the bit of bright copper and the bit of bright gold (in my nose) work so well with the bit of bright silver in the metal embellishment on the neckline of the dress.
‘Tis partially face angle intersecting with angle of sun coming through the window, but I’m having the amusing discovery that it’s easier to see my jewelry (as subtle as it often is these days) when I pout as opposed to when I smile. Those dimples and that jaw line get in the way. Still, smile is its own one of a kind adornment, certainly not going to stop adding those to the wardrobe. Will have to start considering regular dentist checkups as part of my jewelry splurges. Might actually make me more eager to go!
Feeling uninspired on a Tuesday? Take a page from those ManRepeller’s, or even a couple pages. Here we see me fiendishly modeling both denim on denim and dress over pants in one outfit. I owe so much to vintage thrift stores. This dress was probably a date night must for an 80s bombshell - I claim no more than rescuing it from obscurity.
Admittedly, finding it 2 sizes smaller would have increased its potential bombshell factor for yours truly, but vintage thrift stores do unique items in take ‘em as you see ‘em sizing, and I love that it is 100% cotton and loose enough for the coming summer and my mobility, making it way easier to wear with pants!
