"I’m striving for really beautiful and carefully considered clothes,” designer Drew Henry explains. Henry has done an incredible job with his entire collection, Intersections, the different textiles and touches of color are a wonderful blend. Max Oppenheim recently photographed the Look Book for talented new designer Drew Henry.  Inspiration for the clothing comes from the indigenous Ndebele and Shangaan people of South Africa.

Keep an Eye on: Drew Henry

Everyone knows that attending Central St. Martins is pretty much a golden ticket into the industry - and it's well deserved, I've seen the absolute effort that's needs to be put in, in order to get in, first hand. This being said it's good to keep an eye on their graduating class; you might be looking at the next Lee McQueen (are you the next Isabella Blow sitting in the front row?). This year the buzz surrounds Drew Henry.

Born in South Africa, Henry studied at a technical fashion school in Johannesburg before coming to London. His graduate collection was inspired by the social documentaries done years ago by David Goldblatt, Jurgen Schadeberg and Roger Ballen. It's called 'Intersections' and has so many references (tradesmen, domestic workers, indigenous people, menswear...) that there really is no more perfect name!

Can we please take a minute to talk about that white dress? It's no secret that I like my fashion clean, comfortable and strong, and right now, I'm salivating. The crisp white, the pleats, the perfect length peplum/tutu - it's wearable, COMFORTABLE(!!) and extremely special all at once....GIMME! Henry has been accepted into the oh-so fabulous MA Fashion at CSM, so this is only the beginning! I can't wait ...
