Drew Leighty
“What I feel for you increases every waking moment and sometimes that scares the hell out of me but I love you. Yesterday. Today. A thousand tomorrows from now, I will be in love with you.”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, The Prophecy
An Interview with actor/model Drew Leighty at The Reading Cafe:

Let me start by saying Apollycon was one of the best experience of my life. I wasn’t able to give you guys an update yesterday on the bus ride back because it was hectic with all the delays and layovers we had. But that’s behind us, so let me fangirl over the book signing!!
While waiting in the hotel lobby, Jennifer passed me, saw my shirt, proceeded to say how she loved it (since it was a quote from her Lux series) and that Pepe is going to die when he sees it. After she walked past, it was me who died. It was my first interaction with Jennifer and the book signing hadn’t even begun! I couldn’t wait until the book signing to meet Drew and Pepe and talk to her more.
Well it turns out, I didn’t really have to wait until the book signing to meet Drew because he was walking through the lobby before the book signing too! I gathered up my courage, called out his name, and asked if I could take a picture with him. He said yes, and I made my friend take our picture (she rolled her eyes at me, but I ignored her). I told him I would see him at the book signing and we went our separate ways. I couldn’t believe how well this trip was going already!
Finally, it was time to line up for the book signing. We waited outside the doors for about an hour, and once we got inside the doors, we had to stand in a “pre-wait” line for Jennifer’s line because the real line was too long so they had closed it off. This was torture because I was only about 20 feet from Jennifer’s table and it was killing me that I wasn’t in the front of that line getting my books signed and talking to them. After a bout a hour wait, we finally moved to the actual line, but it could not have moved any slower. We made friends with the girls in front of us and talked with them, which helped pass the time. Once we made our way to the front of the line, pretty much all of the other authors had finished signing and left. Jennifer, Drew, and Pepe were the only table still signing and the line wasn’t even closed to being done. There were still at least 50 people behind us. I wasn’t concerned with this because I did my waiting (12 YEARS OF IT…Harry Potter reference anyone?) and was two people away from Jennifer! Then one person away, and before I knew it, it was me who was standing in front of Jennifer, Drew, and Pepe. I handed over my books and Jennifer thank us for waiting in line. We proceeded with more small talk that I won’t bore you with, and too quickly we took pictures and it was over!
After the signing, we made another friend! Lisa and her mom traveled all the way from the Netherlands to come see Jennifer and other authors. They invited us to join them for dinner, and we didn’t see a better option so we scoured the city for a local place to eat! We settled on the Six Pence Pub and ate some delicious food. After dinner, we parted ways and made our way back to the bus stop so we wouldn’t miss the bus and get stuck in Savannah (which wouldn’t necessarily be bad right?).
So all in all, the trip was a success. Yes, the bus rides there and back were extremely long (the ride back is a totally different story and is long enough to have it’s own blog post), and yes, the wait time for Jennifer’s book signing line was over 4 hours, but looking back, it was totally worth it. I got 10 of my books signed, as well as my Nook. I made a shirt for the signing, which you can purchase here, that made Jennifer very happy. Such an amazing experience, and I hope you all read The Titan series and attend Apollycon 2017 next year as I hopefully will!
Apollycon 2016 Update Let me start by saying Apollycon was one of the best experience of my life. I wasn't able to give you guys an update yesterday on the bus ride back because it was hectic with all the delays and layovers we had.
Apollycon 2016
Hey guys it’s Sarah! For those of you who don’t know what Apollycon is, it is a book signing event that occurs the last weekend of February. The first event was in 2015, and it celebrated the release of Jennifer Armentrout’s book, The Return. Tons of other authors come to the signing as well, but the main author is Jennifer. It was held in Philadelphia, PA last year and the cover model for the…

Don't mind me, just chilling with my favorite author and basically characters from her books ;)
