I enjoy nice commercials.
The most moving advertisement I've seen.
This is an advertisement for a phone. A phone. Now, I don't know that it would necessarily make me buy it, but the filming is breathtaking, the sound is moving, and the bare-bones nature of the whole ordeal makes my heart flutter. Really, really beautiful. A wooden ball gradually falling with gravity along a wooden xylophone to play Bach's Cantata 147 in the middle of the woods. I would fund that idea any day. Apparently, the commercial was the brain child of Morihiro Harano, the creative director of Drill Inc., and Kenjiro Matsuo at Invisible Designs Lab made the instrument. The commercial was filmed in Kama City in Kyushu, Japan. The music is not fake. It was of the moment. The whole thing is real. Read more at a NY Times post here.

"A new commercial for NTT Docomo’s Touch Wood SH-08C wooden-encased phone, created by Morihiro Harano of Drill Inc. The video follows a small wooden ball that traverses a sloped xylophone “track”, relying only on the force of gravity to gradually play Bach’s Cantata 147. If only more advertising was this brilliant."
I know this has been around for a while, but I still think it's really nice (supposedly all real sounds and no cgi)
Stunning ad for TouchWood - a mobile phone & design that moves senses and humanizes the technology. Btw, Recognize a melody? It's Bach’s Cantata 147, “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.”
This ad is brought to us by Japanese advertising agency Drill Inc, featuring a wooden ball gliding down the longest wooden marimba I have ever seen. Lose yourself in the tranquility of the Kyushu Woodlands, the location for this hypnotizing ad. I'd watch a lot more TV, if American cellphone companies showed this kind of creativity in their commercials.

This gorgeous commercial -- conceived by Morihiro Harano, the award-winning creative director of Drill, Inc. -- features a sort of sloping marimba, down which a wooden ball rolls, producing an unadorned rendition of Bach's Cantata 147. "We did not add any artificial music at all," Harano tells the New York Times. The things people do to sell a wood-encased phone!
