Har Funn Maula - [prologue]
IG Tarun Ahlawat x Reader Series
Summary: A Goan summer—crystal waves, soft suns, palm beaches, and a mysterious murder. Tarun Ahlawat’s first posting as an IG is under the Pondolim village of Northern Goa, where he encounters various threats to his high blood pressure and sanity alike. The prominent one being, you, the most well kept secret of the precinct.
a/n: my first fic with IG sahabbbb i hope you guys like it. also i will take creative liberties regarding police proceedings and other such things as one does in a fanfic :) + drishyam events never took place.
Tarun liked Pondolim. He really did. With all its greenery, little storefronts, and a beach located not too far away, the aesthetic alone served to be a free stress reliever. Plus, he really liked the jasmine plants he had freshly planted in front of his house.
The only problem was the Pondolim PD and its officers. The scattered, unorganized evidence folders and lack of regard for the warrants on their tables only served to build the stress between his temples for the total of two times he had been in the station.
He knew that being the newly minted Inspector General, it would take some time until his office would be fully set up with all his necessary things in place. Except his chess set, of course.
So, in light of all the things, he decided to take full advantage of the weekend before work started, to go stroll on the isolated boardwalk beside the beach.
A myriad of coconut palms decorated the roads as the bright, yellow incandescent bulbs lit up in the distance, highlighting the dark orangish hue of the Goan sunset. Tarun was dressed in one of his light shirts paired with one of his trademark denims. A classic combo which never disappointed.
As he headed towards the livelier parts of the beach, the sounds of soft guitar strings and occasional soulful vocals drifted from the nearby open restaurants, alongside the spicy scents of fresh Xacuti and Vindaloo.
A good scenery needed a drink to be fully enjoyed, he thought. A little beer wouldn’t hurt since he hadn’t strayed from maintaining his prescribed diet for a long while. He could handle it.
So, in he headed to one of the many village pubs, this one having an open bar with little thatched umbrellas above their seats outside. Thankfully, not many people were around in this small, peaceful establishment—many opted to go and party the night away in some nightclub or chat it up in a dive bar.
The crackling of campfires became more prominent as the sun had been reduced to nothing but drowned light in the steadily darkening waters. Young adults raced up from the waves with their surfboards in hands. A couple was still strolling the cooling sand, holding hands in content.
Tarun sipped his chilled glass of beer, sighing in a rare moment of peace. He didn't mull about anything, just basked in the beauty of the Goan sunset.
Then, the quiet spell was immediately shattered with a loud voice which promised no etiquette when barging in from nowhere.
"I need an extension!"
The man who was busy shelving glasses behind the counter paused, and then took one of them in his hand, almost poised to throw it at the head who had uttered those words.
"This is the third time..." The man muttered slowly, with an expression promising that he was no mood for games.
Tarun, whose ears were still ringing from the unexpected shout, turned his torso around to look at who exactly was it that disturbed his moment of peace which occured once in a blue moon.
His eyes landed upon a short woman wearing a messy bun whose face scrunched up in sheepish grin. She had an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt on top of a white tank top, knee length shorts, and a towel hoisted over her shoulder.
"C'mon, just a week longer, come on now—" She beckoned with her hands like she was convincing a dog.
"I can, and should, report you, you know." He put the glass back in its shelf and sighed heavily, as if he was about to regret his next action.
"PLEA—"
"Fine, I give you another week. If you don't pay your rent by next Wednesday, you're on the streets."
Tarun swore he saw her eyes almost water up, as her voiced attacked his poor ears again.
"THANK YOU, PARVEZ!"
"Shh! Now, shoo! You're scaring my customers with that ugly mug!" The man—Parvez—exasperatedly motioned at her to get out. To which she nodded, smiling like a fool, and turned to jog out as fast as she came in.
So much for a peaceful evening beer.
—————————————————————————
You got the call when you were half asleep on your table, which was littered with books and papers. The sudden ringing of the phone made you snort and jerk up, making a sudden crick in your neck flare up.
“Tsss! Ouch!”
You rubbed the back of your neck frantically while searching for the source of ringing with another hand. After three blind attempts at patting the table, you finally connected the call on the other end.
“Hello…?” You spoke, your voice hoarse from sleep.
From the other end you heard your name being called in almost a panicked way, “Please, you have to come! Vinod ka dimaag garam hote jaa raha hai, aur hame toh IG Sahab ke liye sab arrange bhi karna hai!”
You paused, digesting what you heard, and then got up from your chair slowly as you answered.
“Kamlesh, yeh maamla toh pichle do hafto seh tumhare table pe pada tha na? Aur rahi baat tumhare superior ki, I know all you guys want to do is slack off, huh?”
“Par—“
“Don’t get me wrong, I’ll do it. But,” you continued with a dead set determination, “I’m gonna charge higher than usual. I need to pay my rent before next Wednesday.”
a/n: I’m backkkk hehe, sorry pls don’t kill me for being gone so long 🙏🙏 IG Tarun had me in a chokehold and this plot was just begging me to write it!!! I wanted to make this a chapter, but I feel like making this a prologue was better.

We should make fics on Akshaye khanna different characters 😭✌
Like not just rehman dakait (i mean if y'all want too you can I'm not telling y'all to stop making fics on that specific characters, Everyone has their own choices, I'm just saying)
Like there are many more hot characters like Siddhant chaturvedi from Aakrosh😛
Sanjaya baru from The Accidental prime minister!
Inspector karan in 36 china town!
Dev verma from Ittefaq!
Tarun Ahlawat from Drishyam 2
Tarun Saluja from Section 375.
Baba bhandari in Sab Kushal Mangal 🙏😭
Mathew francis from Mom😛
Like I always get distracted whenever this man comes in the screen even for just a lil bit😭🙏
Honestly, after watching Drishyam 3 (malayalam) I wonder if they're gonna make the same climax in the hindi remake
No cause if they do it right, good for them. Because I HATED the climax in the malayalam one (it showed that Georgekutty/Vijay) would do anything for his family, like ANYTHING
I am not saying anything else (cause idl don't wanna spoil it) but I couldn't bear to watch it (I liked rest of the movie, but the climax bothered me a bit)
Also, I have a question. Has Vijay (in drishyam hindi) always been rich???? Cause from his house, it does NOT look like he's middle class. I haven't watched the first drishyam in hindi so I don't know (I'm only watching drishyam 2 in hindi for Akshaye Khanna 😫😍)
Mujhe bohut zorr se Tarun ahlwat fic chahiye.
Ajay Devgn: Today, Ajay Devgn marked the two-year anniversary of his hit film 'Drishyam 2' in his own unique style. He took a minute to refle
Pippa would have helped Vijay Salgaokar covering up the murder i just know it.
