Η πολιτική που ακολουθεί το Drive.ai για να μάθει σωστή οδήγηση σε ένα αυτόνομο όχημα δεν διαφοροποιείται ιδιαίτερα από τον τρόπο εκπαίδευσης που ακολουθεί και ένας άνθρωπος.

Μέσα από μια σειρά από παραδείγματα και προσομοίωση καταστάσεων στο δρόμο προσπαθεί να διδάξει στο αυτόνομο όχημα τον τρόπο δράσης μέσα από την επανάληψη των σωστών ενεργειών. Ουσιαστικά, το αυτόνομο όχημα θα πρέπει να “γράψει” αρκετές ώρες εκπαίδευσης με δάσκαλο το Drive.ai, όπως αναφέρει χαρακτηριστικά το TechCrunch.

Μέσα στη βάση δεδομένων των σεναρίων κίνησης που έχει το Drive.ai υπάρχουν πολλά και διάφορα περιστατικά κίνησης στον δρόμο, ακόμα και στοιχεία που μπορούν να θεωρηθούν ως τυχαία, όπως είναι για παράδειγμα μία στραβοτιμονιά ενός άλλου οδηγού.

Οι ερευνητές πίσω από τη δημιουργία του Drive.ai έχουν μεγάλη εμπειρία στην ενασχόληση με την τεχνητή νοημοσύνη και έχουν ως σκοπό τους να την ενσωματώσουν στη λειτουργία αυτού του τεχνολογικά εξελιγμένου δάσκαλου οδήγησης.

Για τους δημιουργούς του Drive.ai, τα αυτόνομα κινούμενα οχήματα είναι τα πρώτα ρομπότ που μπορούν να αλληλεπιδράσουν σε πραγματικές συνθήκες με τους ανθρώπους σε μαζική κλίμακα και αυτό είναι κάτι που απαιτεί ιδιαίτερη μέριμνα στην εκπαίδευσή τους.
