the ease at which people fall into fascist thinking is nauseating. Do these people not see that "bigotry is okay because I dislike the victim" is exactly what fascists think?
Of course they recognize that the way they treat people of marginalized identities isn't okay, that's why they justify it by making up fear mongering stories about the queers corrupting and grooming kids or the blacks conspiring to rise up and murder white people. Humans recognize when they're being cruel, bigotry is not done unknowingly by a majority of bigots. They just justify it because they dislike the victims.
It's exactly what these "leftists" are doing now. An alt right fascist and a Twitter leftist will say the exact same thing: it is okay to dehumanize and threaten this queer neurodivergent man using his identity as weapons because I believe he's a danger to children"
Nevermind that calling dream slurs doesn't make anyone any safer, nevermind that mocking his art doesn't do anything but make him feel annoyed at best. "Any and all cruelty is okay because I say so"
It's nauseating.
Older brother: so were you in a content drought?
Me: well no. We were living with the drituatiom awaiting the drideo, which kind of sucked because we knew it would talk about the drontroversy. But now that the drideo has dropped, we’re in the dresolution now. And, we’re getting drontent in January.
Little brother: please god speak normally
i know i like to stay of dream controversy a lot because idk i feel like my opinion is unneeded? like everything that needs to be said is already said and i usually learn about it too late for anyone to care, so i just dont say anything. but it honestly shocks me how much dream does something COMPLETELY NORMAL AND NOT OUT OF BOUNDS and out of nowhere people blow this shit up and make it into a whole entire thing and its just SO SO annoying like, yall made him trend in the US for what? because you think hes lying?? girlie stfu. mans had to deal with haters not even a week or two ago and yall pulling this shit?
the responsibility to initiate a conversation once again being put on dream is driving me fucking insane everyone should kill themselves
so glad tubbo has self appointed himself as supreme fag cuz otherwise I'd still think I was queer
"you tried to interview george but he walked away" i started laughing
i havent really said anything about the newest drontroversy that shouldnt even be a drontroversy, but i am genuinely so desperate for people to have even a modicum of basic human decency and common sense. like i really need people to understand that if we put all the pieces together without using names, a 20 year old man got drunk at a party, accused late arrival and friend of the host, a 24 year old queer man he'd just met, of pedophilia, and proceeded to physically assault him multiple times, verbally berate him and his uber driver with racism, homophobia, ableism, and antisemitism, threaten to kill him, and then lie about it on social media to thousands of people, and when the 24 year old provided proof of what happened to him, a good chunk of the reactions were
- "if he had posted about it sooner/when it happened, i would have believed him" <- victim-blaming, and also just blatantly untrue at this point. if you don't believe video evidence now, you wouldn't have believed it 2 months ago either
- "he should've resolved this privately instead of posting about it on twitter" <- hypocritical, as these are the same people who get mad when he does try to resolve things privately
- "he shouldn't have let someone drink underage" <- victim-blaming and also based on the incorrect assumption that dream provided the alcohol (wasn't his party, wasn't there until after nicholas had already gotten drunk, had no clue who nicholas was or that he was only 20 prior to any of this)
- "the 20 year old is pansexual and bipolar and drunk so actually its ok and not his fault that he said these things" <- a really fucking weird thing to say. like I thought we were over the idea of mental illness and marginalized identity making bigotry suddenly okay and excusable
- "i dont like the 24 year old so i think the 20 year old is in the right here" <- you're literally just a terrible person if you think bigotry and assault are suddenly okay and even good if the victim is someone you don't like
