Reading some old chapters again is pretty fun, I learn new details every time.
Like this one pretty interesting detail in Drowa (elf Gauche) vs. BBs fight.
During the fight, Eclat, the little sister, forced people from casting magic, Drowa, on the other hand, threw light-like beams to kill them, and the two of them are looking at the humans from up above like some assholes with superior complex.
Sounds familiar?! Yes...
Both the sibling's combo and position parallel with the humans attack 500 years ago, but here is one difference; roles are reversed!
We got a similar parallel moment to the humans attacking the elves with Patri doing the same with Julius, but with Drowa and Eclat, the similarities are more clear and ironic.
Also, and that’s my favorite part, this might be the reason why Drowa stopped himself on his own, he recalled the memory of humans killing them with cold blood, the memory in which he lost everyone he cares about, but then he thought, “those people (bulls) are like us,” and decided: “If I keep doing this, I won’t be myself”
And he literally meant it, and saw it with the bulls, they’re no different from them, and the elves, himself and his sister and everyone else, are turning into their own killers and the people they hate the most.
So he stopped on his own, before he dragged himself, and especially his clearly depressed sister, to the point of no return, even though he still hates the humans and even though he knows that Patri and Rhya worked hard and went through so much for their sake, Drowa of the elves decided to stop, a decision no other elf but him makes, since those who stopped on their own did so after the devil showed up.
This makes Drowa one of the most impressive, yet extremely tragic, characters in the manga, and despite his short presence you can tell that he’s well written with a lot of depth.
And it’s interesting to look at his character and thinks of Gauche because, and I’m saying this as a Gauche stan, Drowa is a better person in every way, and it makes a lot of sense because he’s older (24yo to Gauche’s 19yo), so I wonder, maybe one day Gauche will become like him?
One thing for sure, these two loves their sister so much, for Gauche will never be the same person he is now without Marie’s influence (he’ll be even more of selfish jerk without morals), and Drowa most likely decides to stop for the sake of his sister, as parents and adults tend to take better choices in life when they’re with minors!
