DRRR!! Secret Santa 2016

What is this?

This is a Secret Santa!

Basically, we’ll gather a whole bunch of people, and get them all to give gifts to each other. But! The giftee won’t know who their Secret Santa is (unless the Secret Santa tells them).

How do you pick who gives to who?

Black magic and intuition (and the preferences you put in your submission! The more specific you are, the more specific your match will be)

Do I have to give a gift?

Yup! In order to receive one, you have to give one. If you can’t give one for whatever reason, let us know as soon as possible so we can arrange to have someone else give a gift in your place. You must also give something original (so, something you’ve written, drawn, edited, etc yourself! No reposting).

If you’d also like to be a backup Santa (in case someone else’s match can’t gift them anything), just let us know!

Can I give my gift anonymously?

Just let us know when you submit it, and we’ll make sure it’s anonymous.

What can I gift?

You can gift almost anything! Writing, art, gif sets- whatever you want. Just make sure you’ve put some heart into it and haven’t rushed it at the last minute. There’d be nothing worse than receiving a three hundred word story, or two gifs, or something like that.

As a guideline, try to make sure that stories are at least around 500 to 1000 words (or higher), gif sets have four or more gifs, and art isn’t a super rushed wip. If in doubt, think of what you’d like to receive and what you’d be disappointed with, and go with whatever you’d feel better about.

Do I have to sign up as a Secret Santa to join in?

Nope! If you want to gift someone randomly, or have your submissions posted, you can do that as well! But, if you want to receive a gift, then you have to sign up (and give one as well!).

We’ll reblog holiday themed art, stories, and anything else as long as it’s tagged with #drrrsecretsanta2016.

When is all of this happening?

We’ll close the sign up’s at 11:59pm on December 5 (American Eastern Standard Time), and roll out the matches between December 6 and 7. If you don’t receive your match by then, let us know.

After that, you’ll have until 11:59pm December 24 to submit your gifts! We’ll be asking everyone to submit their gifts directly to this blog, so they can be queued up and rolled out on Christmas Day.
