Pairing: Izaya/Shizuo

Shizuo didn’t even believe in this stuff but-. He paused looking at the ancient tome Shinra had bought for him. His brother had finally received the casting call of a lifetime. It was his lucky break. But the man in charge had a vendetta against Shizuo and had told him-. More like shouted. Shizuo mentally growled to himself reading over the tome, his hand clenched as the man’s words clanged once more through his mind. His blood reboiling again, feeding into his looping anger, and his reason for doing this in the first place. “As long as I’m in charge,” the words seemed to mock him, “Your brother will never get a role in this industry. You hear me?” The blond hissed and pressed his hand to the page. This had to work. One deal. He’d do whatever it took to help his brother.
Izaya was for lack of a better word... bored. It was hard being a demon that was over communication and chaos. It made those seeking better communication to steer clear of him and those seeking chaos to search for bigger time tricksters. It didn’t help he was notorious for turning his brand of chaos onto his Summoners as well. Izaya hummed sitting at a crossroad that some high schoolers had decided to summon him at, only to immediately chicken out. He was trapped to this plane of existence for a while, but was tragically too far away to do much damage. He hummed his eyes traveling the length of the road. By his estimation he could arrive at a nearby town in two hours and start small. Planting a seed of fear and watching it grow. A slow smirk came to his face. Oh, how wonderfully beautiful that would be. A slight tug pulled at him, stilling his movements. A summon. The beginnings of one from an unpracticed hand. Izaya swallowed slowly, savoring the desperation behind the plea. A smirk pulling at his lips, a wicked thing unto its own. Oh. He could work with this. He turned sharply his tail swishing, as he disappeared like the flame of a snuffed candle.
Shizuo put more effort into the summoning, every ounce of concentration and urging with his soul, just how the book instructed. Minutes passed and still nothing happened. He snarled slamming the book onto the table, the table giving a loud rattle. He needed this to work. His eyes closed once more, repeating the words he’d said one too many times now. His mind reaching out as to not interrupt the chant. Please... for my brother... please.
“And this is the one to summon me?” Shizuo’s eyes shot open to behold the being in front of him. He was tall, thin, and clothed in black. Not as tall as Shizuo though, but close. The figure had a long cloak with white fur framing his face, only accentuating the inky darkness of his hair even more. The creature’s eyes reminded Shizuo of blood. He was beginning to regret this.
The demon grinned sharp teeth being flashed, “Too much mortal?” he hummed taking a step as it all faded away to a simple black outfit and jacket with slight fur around the cuffs and collar. His eyes though were just as red as before, his grin revealing said teeth were human except for the unnaturally sharp canines. Shizuo was still gathering his thoughts as he analyzed this. He needed to focus, he couldn’t lose it because demons were apparently real. He needed to remember why he was doing this in the first place.
“Demon. I’ve called you for your skills in communication and chaos. I need you to get Ito Hideaki to allow my brother the acting part he’s landed. And until Ito-san does, to make Ito-san’s life a living hell.” the demon paused blinking as if shocked by his request. Shizuo growled once more. Had he not even summoned the right demon?! Shizuo was going to give Shinra a piece of his mind next time he saw him. The demon though collected his wits and grinned tilting his head ever so slightly making him look the part of his namesake.
“Oh~. An interesting request. And what will be my payment?” Shizuo froze. Right demons. He’d completely forgotten the payment part. Demons wanted souls, right? But he didn’t like the idea of throwing his chances away for a heaven he was now questioning the existence of. Wait, was making a deal with a demon already wrecking his chances? The demon sneered,
“I can see the smoke already. Have you hit your brain capacity today?” Shizuo snarled, moving towards the creature,
“Listen here flea. I need this done. What would do for payment.” he shot back, getting up into the demon’s personal space. Said demon was unfazed and simply hummed, looking to the side, his pointer finger on his chin.
“It’s a simple request, but it could possibly last a while. How about~,” he turned back to Shizuo with a cool stare and a sharp smile, “Your heart.” Shizuo felt something tug on the inside of him, probably his good sense telling him to back out now. Shizuo growled holding out his hand.
“Deal.” he stated firmly, eyes locked on the demon’s own. Said demon grinned in excitement, clasping his hand with Shizuo’s own.
“Then it’s done.” Izaya took back his hand and clapped them together. He was gone, leaving only a wisp of smoke and the distinct smell of brimstone. Shizuo blinked whipping his head around to see if he could find the other. Dread crept in and settled deep in his stomach. Something told him he’d just made the biggest mistake of his life.
Simple Desires
Characters: Shizuo Heiwajima Fandom: DRRR AO3 Summary: Shizuo just wants to enjoy life. So as of right now, he'll do so with a mug cake Notes: This is for @samthesuperiosane, as part of the 2019 DRRR Secret Santa! I’m a little late, so apologies again
Shizuo Heiwajima is a simple man.
He is a simple man with simple desires.
He likes to keep his clothes neat, smile with his friends, and to live a peaceful life.
And while the desires themselves seem simple, they’re not always easy (or frankly possible) for the far-too-frequently violent man of Ikebukuro, he continued to quietly strive for these goals.
But the simplest of these desires he could feasibly indulge on was his desire for sweets.
