I got to help with an elaborate photographic ruse this past Saturday which ended up in some of my dearest friends Liam & Becky getting engaged.

Fujiroid of my dad
My dad. He's quite the character. As much as he fell into fatherhood, I think he waited his entire life to be able to tell dad jokes. This was the remaining Ruminari interview I lost while switching phones. Sad that it was lost, but the actual process of interviewing him opened my eyes to see that the discontent and wanderlust I'd been feeling (which prompted the first Ruminari series) are just a part of life, and that they always come back. I also got to hear for the first time what having a kid with leukemia was like, and that having that perspective makes you feel glad to be alive and to have what you have.
Friend and Madison-based photographer Laura Zastrow. I originally made this image of Laura for Ruminari but the recording of our interview was corrupted when I switched to a new phone. I've been trying for a while to save/listen to the file but eventually just gave up. At least I still have the image.
My brother makes parkas now. Something tells me they're not cheap.
